What should be noted when using a reel-type sprinkler irrigation machine?
The reel-type sprinkler irrigation machine, also known as the hose reel or winch-type sprinkler irrigation machine, is an irrigation machine that winds a traction PE pipe around a reel, uses pressurized irrigation water to drive a water turbine in rotation, drives the reel to rotate through a speed-changing device, and pulls the sprinkler cart to move and spray automatically. In recent years, as drought conditions in the north have intensified, large-scale growers have increasingly applied it in open fields.
It is suitable for irrigating large areas of farmland. The water delivery pipe is wound on the reel. During spraying, it is pulled by a tractor to one end of the plot. The spray gun sprays while the sprinkler cart moves backward, spraying out a rectangular strip until it stops at the edge of the field. It is a suitable choice for water-saving irrigation of farmland.
The working principle adopts a water turbine power drive system, in which pressurized water enters the water turbine and uses the kinetic energy of the water to drive the water turbine in rotation. The rotation of the water turbine drives the reel to rotate through a multi-function gearbox device, dragging the PE pipe to achieve uniform recovery of the sprinkler cart. At the same time, pressurized water enters the PE pipe and is delivered to the sprinkler head, enabling normal spraying by the sprinkler head.
The reel-type sprinkler irrigation machine is mainly composed of several parts, including the chassis, frame, reel, PE water delivery pipe, automatic speed control device, water turbine drive device, gearbox, sprinkler cart, guide device, and safety device. The machine has a simple structure, a high degree of automation, strong adaptability, convenient operation, and multi-stage speed change. It is one of the ideal water-saving irrigation machines suited to China's conditions. The single-nozzle reel-type sprinkler irrigation machine is mainly suitable for crops with lower atomization index requirements.
Use, adjustment, and safety precautions for the reel-type sprinkler irrigation machine
I. Traction of the reel-type sprinkler irrigation machine and stretching of the PE pipe
Before starting the machine, press once for each check to confirm:
1. Before starting the machine, first apply grease to all rotating parts such as bearings and chains, and the protective covers of all running parts should be locked tight.
2. Before starting, tighten the wheel nuts and check whether the air pressure is correct.
3. Set the wheel spacing of the sprinkler cart according to the type of crop being sprayed and the size of the selected sprinkler irrigation machine.
4. Place an appropriate counterweight on the balance weight of the sprinkler cart. When the nozzle diameter selected is Φ14-24mm, place two counterweights; when the nozzle diameter exceeds Φ24mm, and when the wheel spacing of the sprinkler cart is narrow, place four counterweights.
5. Set the spray sector angle of the sprinkler head. To ensure that the sprinkler cart travels on dry ground, the sector angle is generally selected at 220-270°.
II. Transport the machine to the set position
1. When traveling on a highway, the reel must be rotated to the direction of travel and locked with a fixing pin, the PE pipe must be wound on the reel, the sprinkler cart must be lifted and covered with the transport protection frame, and the front support and the two rear supports must be retracted to the highest position and locked with fixing pins. When traveling, the tow bar is hooked into the connecting claw of the towing machine. The traveling speed must not exceed 10 km/h.
2. When the machine is transported in the field, pay special attention to the terrain. The maximum traveling speed must not exceed 5 km/h, and the width of the transport pipe route must be ensured.
3. After the sprinkler irrigation machine reaches the working position, adjust the reel so that the traveling direction of the sprinkler cart is consistent with the sprinkler irrigation strip, fix the sprinkler irrigation machine, and lock it.
4. When pulling the PE pipe, first pull out the rotating chassis fixing lock, rotate the reel to be consistent with the direction of the irrigation strip, and then lock the fixing lock.
5. Use the handwheel to press the two rear supports into the ground. If the ground is very hard, first dig pits in the ground, place the supports into the pits, and then lock the rear supports with fixing pins.
6. When the machine is in the working position, release the mechanical locking position of the sprinkler cart, lift the positioning rod upward, and at the same time carefully press the gear lever downward, and the sprinkler cart will slowly lower. The operator's position must be outside the machine supports.
III. Precautions during use
1. After the water pump is started, if water has not come out within 3 minutes, stop the machine and check. During operation of the water pump, if abnormal phenomena such as noise, vibration, or decreased water volume are found, stop the machine immediately. Also pay attention to the bearing temperature, which must not exceed 75°C.
2. The water used for sprinkler irrigation by the hose reel sprinkler irrigation machine must not contain large amounts of sediment and dirt, so as to avoid wearing or clogging the sprinkler head. When the wind force is above grade three, sprinkler irrigation should not be carried out.
3. When the unit is running, observe whether the sprinkler head is working normally, whether there is uneven rotation, rotation that is too fast or too slow, or even no rotation, and observe whether reversing is flexible and whether there are any abnormal phenomena.
4. In order to adapt to different soil types and crops, the nozzle needs to be replaced. When adjusting the rotation speed of the sprinkler head, the rocker arm spring can be tightened or loosened. The rocker arm is suspended on the rocker arm support, and the position-adjusting screw can be turned to adjust the water entry depth at the head of the rocker arm to control the rotation speed of the sprinkler head. Adjusting the reverse rotation position can change the reverse rotation speed.
5. Pay attention to observing whether the sprinkler irrigation intensity is appropriate, requiring that no runoff or standing water be produced on the soil surface. Otherwise, it indicates that the sprinkler irrigation intensity is too high, and the working pressure should be reduced in time or the nozzle should be replaced with one of smaller diameter.
IV. Maintenance and care after use
1. After sprinkler irrigation is completed, wipe the machine, pump, and sprinkler head clean. All lubrication points should be lubricated on time. In winter, drain all water from the pump and pipes after each use to prevent freezing and cracking. The maintenance of the machine and pump should be carried out according to the instruction manual.
2. When the unit is not used for a long time, the water stored in the pump body must be drained. Disassemble the water pump and sprinkler head, wipe off water stains, apply oil, assemble them well, package them, and store them in a dry place. If any parts are damaged, they should be repaired or replaced in time.
3. The water stored in the pipes should be drained empty, and any fallen-off rustproof layer should be repaired. Mobile hoses should be rinsed clean and fully dried in the air. Plastic pipes should be protected from prolonged exposure to the sun and properly stored in a ventilated, dry warehouse.
