The weather is gradually warming up, which also signals that the planting season is about to arrive. Have you already gained a detailed understanding of sprinkler irrigation equipment? So what precautions should be taken during the use of a sprinkler irrigation machine?

1. Preparation before use

① When using V-belt transmission, the main shaft of the power machine and the water pump must be parallel, the pulleys must be aligned, and the center distance between them must not be less than 2 times the sum of the diameters of the two pulleys. When the water pump is connected to the power machine, a common base should be provided, and a claw-type elastic coupling may be used. Attention must be paid to the concentricity of the power machine main shaft and the water pump shaft.

② The installation height of the water pump (based on the water surface of the suction pond) should be 1 m to 2 m below the allowable suction vacuum height. The soil at the working position should be firm to prevent collapse or sinking into the ground.

③ Particular attention should be paid to preventing air leakage when installing the water inlet pipeline. The filter screen should be completely submerged in water, at a depth of about 0.3 m, and kept at a certain distance from the pond bottom and pond walls to prevent the intake of sediment, other impurities, and air.

④ When laying the water outlet pipeline, the hose should avoid friction with stones, tree bark, and other objects, avoid being run over by wheels and trampled by pedestrians, and must not come into contact with moving machine parts. The hose should be rolled into a coil for moving, and must not be dragged on the ground. Rigid pipes should be dismantled into single sections for transport; multiple sections must not be moved while connected, to prevent wear and damage to the pipes and joints. The pipeline should avoid prolonged exposure to the sun and rain to prevent deformation or aging of the plastic pipes.

⑤ Support the sprinkler frame on the ground, place the end face of the sprinkler frame joint as level as possible, and then fix the sprinkler frame. Install the sprinkler head on the sprinkler frame, check whether the sprinkler head rotates flexibly, pull open the rocker arm to see whether its tightness is appropriate, and add an appropriate amount of machine oil to the rotating parts. Then wipe the quick coupling clean and connect it properly.

⑥ Before starting, check whether the rotation direction of the pump shaft is correct and whether the rotation speed is uniform. There must be no abnormal phenomena such as jamming or unusual noise.

⑦ Before starting the centrifugal pump, fill the pump with water. Start it only after the water inlet pipeline and pump body are full.

2. Precautions during use

① After the water pump is started, if no water comes out within 3 minutes, stop the machine and check it.

② If abnormal phenomena occur during operation of the water pump (noise, vibration, decreased water volume, etc.), stop the machine immediately. Pay attention to bearing temperature rise; its temperature must not exceed 75°C.

③ Observe whether the sprinkler head works normally, whether there is uneven rotation, too fast or too slow rotation, or even no rotation. Observe whether the direction of rotation is flexible and whether there are any abnormal phenomena.

④ Try to avoid using water sources with excessively high sediment content for sprinkler irrigation; otherwise, it is easy to wear the water pump impeller and the nozzle of the sprinkler head. When adjusting the rotation speed of the sprinkler head, this can be done by tightening or loosening the rocker arm spring. The rocker arm is suspended on the rocker arm shaft. The adjustment screw can be turned to adjust the water entry depth at the head of the rocker arm to control the rotation speed of the sprinkler head. Adjusting the reverse rotation position can change the rotation speed.

⑤ The sign that the sprinkler head rotation speed has been adjusted well is that, on the premise of not producing surface runoff, a slow rotation speed is used as much as possible. Generally, a small sprinkler head makes 1 revolution in 1 minute to 2 minutes, a medium sprinkler head makes 1 revolution in 3 minutes to 4 minutes, and a large sprinkler head makes 1 revolution in 5 minutes to 7 minutes.

3. Maintenance of the unit

① Loosened parts of the unit should be tightened in a timely manner.

② All lubrication points should be lubricated on time to ensure good lubrication and normal operation.

③ The maintenance of the unit's power machine and water pump should be carried out according to the relevant instruction manuals.

④ When the unit is not in use for a long time, the water stored in the pump body must be drained, the water pump and sprinkler head disassembled and inspected, water stains wiped clean, oil applied, and the unit reassembled. The inlet and outlet parts should be wrapped well and stored in a dry place. The pipeline should be washed clean and dried in the sun (the hose rolled into a coil) and placed in a cool, dry place. The above parts must not be stored in places with acids, alkalis, or high temperatures.

⑤ The threads (or quick couplings) on the frame and areas prone to rust should be oiled and stored properly.
