After the irrigation season ends, hose reel irrigation machines should be stored properly to protect the irrigation equipment, so as to ensure normal use in the next irrigation season. So how do hose reel irrigation machines get stored for the winter?

The storage steps are as follows:

1. Before winter storage, the last time the PE pipe is wound onto the reel, it should be done with the pipe full of pressure. If the PE pipe is wound onto the reel empty, it may be flattened in cross-section, and after being stored this way for a winter, the pipe will be damaged and its service life will be shortened accordingly. Damage caused in this way is not covered by the warranty. After the PE pipe is fully wound onto the reel, to prevent the water in the pipe from freezing, an air compressor with a pressure of 0.25Mpa and 800 liters per minute can be connected to the water inlet of the irrigation machine to discharge the water from the pipe. During operation, the reel must first be braked; after all the water in the pipe has been discharged, release the brake to loosen the PE pipe on the reel, so as to reduce the tension on the PE pipe.

2. Open all gates and disconnect the pipes with fittings on the machine.

3. Check and confirm whether the water in the water turbine and the water pump has been fully drained.

4. In winter, the machine should be stored indoors, and all moving parts should be lubricated according to the manufacturer's maintenance method.

5. Use a jack to support the machine, and place wooden blocks under the axle to prop it up, so as to reduce the pressure on the tires.

6. Lower the sprinkler cart, remove the sprinkler from the sprinkler cart, lubricate and maintain it according to the manufacturer's instructions, pack it carefully for storage, and apply lubricating oil to the threads where the nozzle is installed.

7. Seal the pipe inlet with plastic sheeting to prevent dirt and other things from entering.

Through the several points of attention introduced above, as long as the winter storage work is done carefully in accordance with the requirements, there will be no problems with the use of the machine and equipment in the coming year.
