A reversible plough consists of a suspension frame, a reversing cylinder, a non-return mechanism, a land wheel mechanism, a plough frame and plough bodies. The reversible plough, weighing 600kg, with 3 plough bodies on each side (left and right), is designed and manufactured according to the national standard for spring-type ploughs for dry fields in northern China. To ensure its smooth operation during use, the reversible plough requires a series of adjustments to the three plough frames during operation. Let us look at these adjustment tasks one by one below.

1. Transverse level adjustment

First, adjust the level of the suspension head frame crossbeam. Park the unit on level ground. Rotate the handle on the tractor lift rod to lengthen or shorten the lift rod, so that the suspension frame crossbeam is parallel to the ground. The height of the crossbeam from the ground is determined by the specific ploughing depth; the greater the ploughing depth, the lower the crossbeam. Then adjust the level of the plough frame. The method is to adjust the adjustment bolts at both ends of the plough suspension head frame (some are at other positions), so that the two left and right bolts protrude from the crossbeam to the same height. The protrusion height value depends on the specific ploughing depth; the greater the ploughing depth, the more they protrude. Through the above adjustments, the transverse level of the plough is basically ensured.

2. Longitudinal level adjustment

After the transverse level adjustment of the plough frame is completed, the longitudinal level adjustment of the plough frame must be carried out during trial ploughing. During trial ploughing, observe whether the main frame (or diagonal beam) of the plough is level. If the front is high and the rear is low, causing difficulty for the main frame body of the plough to enter the soil or ploughing too shallow, the upper pull rod should be shortened; otherwise, the upper pull rod should be lengthened. At this point, note that the longitudinal level adjustment is carried out after the transverse level adjustment is completed, and under the premise of ensuring the transverse level state; its adjustment is limited to adjusting the upper pull rod only. If the lower pull rod is adjusted so that its length changes, it will inevitably destroy the transverse level of the entire plough frame. At this time, even if the plough frame reaches a level state in one ploughing state (such as right-turn ploughing), it is difficult to ensure that the plough frame can be in a level state in the other ploughing state (left-turn ploughing).

3. Ploughing depth adjustment

If it is a plough that controls ploughing depth by height adjustment, then the land wheel lead screw must be adjusted to adjust the ploughing depth. The Baoding Shuangying 1LF-335 hydraulic reversible plough and the Shanxi 1LF-430 hydraulic reversible plough control the left and right ploughing depth through single plough wheel reversing operation, so their ploughing depth adjustment is relatively simple; as long as one side reaches the predetermined ploughing depth, the ploughing depth of the other side is also ensured. Some plough models control the left and right ploughing depth through double plough wheels; for these plough models, the ploughing depth during left and right ploughing must be adjusted separately.

This reversible plough is suitable for ploughing operations in dry field cultivated land with a soil specific resistance less than 1.0kg/c㎡, and can also be used in northern paddy fields. It can perform shuttle-type bidirectional operations; after ploughing, the surface is level, with no “open and closed furrows”, and few empty runs at the field head. When working on slopes, it can reduce the slope of cultivated land year by year. Reversal is reliable, with a reversal in-place rate reaching 95%. During back-and-forth ploughing, the soil furrow slice always turns to one side, leaving no moisture furrow in the field, thereby leveling and reducing the slope of hillside and sloped land. The above plough body curved surface is a furrow-turning plough body curved surface, with good soil breaking and covering performance and high work efficiency.

For the adjustment of reversible plough ploughing depth

Normally, the rated ploughing depth of a reversible plough is 20-30cm. When measuring, clean the furrow bottom, use a straight wooden strip parallel to the unploughed ground, and then measure vertically with a straight ruler. Generally, ploughing depth may vary between deeper and shallower, so we need to adjust this.

If the ploughing is shallow: adjust the limit support bolt of the depth wheel fixing plate limit seat on the reversible plough, shorten the bolt, make the depth wheel tilt backward, and lower the plough frame, so as to achieve the purpose of increasing depth.

If the ploughing is too deep, exceeding 30cm, use the same method to adjust and turn the long support bolt of the reversible plough, so that the depth wheel tilts forward and the plough frame rises, achieving the purpose of shallower ploughing.

Everyone should note that after adjusting the length appropriately on one side of the reversible plough, the bolts on the other side of the reversible plough must also be adjusted to the same length. In addition, the left and right supports on the fixing plate can also be adjusted, moving them up and down to adjust the depth of the depth wheel.
