Safe Operation and Precautions for Self-Propelled Boom Sprayers

1. When the machine is driven on roads, traffic rules must be observed. Before going on the road, please check whether the lights, horn, brakes and emergency braking functions are in good condition, ensure that the boom is in the folded position, and ensure that the boom bracket is already supporting the boom. When the machine starts, rises or lowers, or when the boom is unfolded or folded, the horn should be sounded as a warning. During road transport and operation, it is strictly forbidden for personnel to stand on the machine, and the cab must not carry more people than permitted. Always pay attention to whether the road traffic conditions can accommodate the dimensions of the machine.

2. Before the machine works, the control buttons should be checked, and the operating procedures for each button should be mastered. After the machine is started, no other person may ride on it, and it must not tow other machines. Try to avoid sudden braking or sudden acceleration, as this will cause the water in the main tank to surge and make the machine unstable. After the machine is shut down, the parking brake should be applied, the working parts locked, and the control lever placed in the neutral position before servicing the machine.

3. Operators should have a sense of self-protection and must wear protective equipment (clothing, gloves, shoes, etc.) during operation. Operators must not drink water, eat, smoke or engage in other behaviors that may cause pesticide poisoning during the operation. Once operators experience symptoms such as physical discomfort, they should immediately go to the hospital for medical treatment. During operation, the driver must concentrate, and only get on or off the machine after it has come to a complete stop.

4. It is strictly forbidden to enter under the machine for inspection, maintenance or repair while the engine is not shut off. If a fault occurs during operation, it is necessary to stop immediately, shut off the engine, and close the chemical distribution valve before inspection can be carried out. Before servicing the electronic control system of the machine, the power should first be cut off. During maintenance and repair, the machine must be parked on flat, solid ground and must be supported with sturdy objects. During operation, maintenance and boom handling, no one is allowed to stand within the boom's swing range or below the boom. Except for necessary repair and maintenance, personnel must not enter the chemical tank. After spraying, if there is residual chemical liquid in the tank, it should be handled in accordance with relevant environmental protection regulations and must not be discharged at will. High-pressure hydraulic lines should be checked regularly to detect hidden dangers in a timely manner.

5. When handling pesticides, the safety instructions provided by the pesticide manufacturer should be followed, and relevant national environmental protection regulations should be observed. When flushing the chemical tank and spraying pipelines, the wastewater from the nozzles, filters and the cleaning of operators' protective equipment should be handled in accordance with relevant environmental protection regulations and must not be discharged at will.

6. Pay attention to the warning and safety signs on the machine, and ensure they are clean and intact

Operating Methods for Self-Propelled Boom Sprayers

1. Set the parameters required for the spraying operation. The setting of spraying parameters is related to the traveling speed of the sprayer, the amount of chemical liquid applied per unit area (determined according to the pesticide instructions) and the model of nozzle used. The traveling speed of the sprayer should be adjusted according to the ground terrain conditions of the operation.

2. Add water. Water can be added to the machine's chemical tank up to the rated capacity by a water supply truck, or the machine can be driven to the nearest water source to the operation site and a small gasoline engine centrifugal pump unit can be used to add water to the chemical tank.

3. Add chemicals. After adding water to the chemical tank, close the main spray switch, add pesticides in the corresponding proportion to the chemical tank according to the pesticide use concentration, and then fully stir the chemical liquid in the tank through internal circulation of the machine's liquid flow system. When a small gasoline engine centrifugal pump unit is used to add water to the chemical tank, pesticides can be added to the chemical tank at the same time as water is added, so that the chemical liquid stirring can be completed during the water addition process.
