A Detailed Guide to Using a Wheat No-Till Seeder and the Precautions to Take

During spring plowing, various models of seeders have been included in the scope of agricultural machinery purchase subsidies, and these machines are also essential production tools for farmers. During spring plowing, various models of seeders have been included in the scope of agricultural machinery purchase subsidies, and these machines are also essential production tools for farmers. Therefore, taking advantage of the preferential policies for agricultural machinery purchase subsidies, we can vigorously promote the use of various no-till seeders, thereby actively giving play to the guiding and promoting role of national policies in agricultural development.

The wheat no-till fertilizing seeder is key to promoting and implementing conservation tillage technology, and whether the machine can be correctly mastered and used will directly affect how well it performs. To help farmers correctly master the use of this machine, the use of the wheat no-till seeder and the precautions are introduced as follows.

1. Before operation, first select a tractor and universal joint that match the machine; second, carefully check whether all connecting parts of the machine rotate freely, whether all clearances are normal, and whether all lubrication points have been filled with lubricating oil; third, adjust the seeding rate according to the instruction manual and carry out a trial sowing, and only put it into formal operation after confirming there are no problems; finally, after the machine is matched with the power source, keep the frame level from left to right and front to back (at this time, the angle between the universal joint and the horizontal plane of the machine should be within ±10°). If it does not meet this, it can be solved by adjusting the length of the left and right pull rods and the central diagonal pull rod of the tractor suspension mechanism.

2. When working in a field with standing stubble, the field should first be properly leveled, such as by watering the furrows, and then the machine can be brought into the field for operation.

3. During operation, the forward speed of the machine should not be too fast and should generally be kept within the range of 1-3 km/h, and the load should generally be based on meeting agronomic requirements. Too deep will cause the tractor load to be too heavy, while too shallow will fail to meet agronomic requirements and affect emergence.

4. When starting, first sound the horn; second, engage the power take-off shaft when the machine's blades are 15 cm above the ground, let it idle for 1 minute, shift into the working gear, and slowly release the clutch pedal; at the same time, operate the tractor's hydraulic lift adjustment handle, then increase the throttle so that the machine gradually enters the soil until normal sowing depth is reached. While moving, maintain a uniform straight advance and try to avoid changing speed or stopping midway. If stopping is truly necessary, do not move the machine back and forth, so as to avoid double sowing or missed sowing.

5. When the machine is used in combination with a tractor that has a force and position adjustment hydraulic suspension mechanism (Shanghai-50 model), position adjustment should be used, and its handle should be placed in the "lift" position. Force adjustment is strictly prohibited to avoid damaging the machine. When the position adjustment handle is moved downward, the machine descends; otherwise, it rises.

6. When the machine is used in combination with a tractor that has a split-type hydraulic suspension mechanism (such as the Tianjin-60 model), after lifting or lowering the machine, the distributor handle should be quickly returned to the floating position. Never place the handle in the "pressure down" or "neutral" position, so as to avoid damaging the machine.

7. When turning at the end of the field, first cut off the machine's power and raise the machine before turning; when lowering the machine, first make the blades rotate normally before entering the soil, and lower it slowly while moving forward. Never lower the machine suddenly, so as to avoid damaging the blades and causing blockage of the seed and fertilizer openers.

8. During operation, reversing is strictly prohibited, personnel must not approach rotating parts, and no one is allowed to stand behind the machine.

9. During operation, always pay attention to observing the work quality, and stop immediately for inspection if abnormal phenomena are found. If it is necessary to inspect rotating parts or replace parts, cut off the machine's power and, if necessary, shut off the tractor.

10. During operation, pay attention to adding seed and fertilizer in a timely manner. The amount of seed and fertilizer in the seed and fertilizer boxes must not be less than 1/4 of the volume of the seed and fertilizer boxes. When the relative soil moisture content is ≥70%, operation should be stopped. To improve the operation effect, it is best to carry it out when the moisture content of corn stalks is ≥41%.

11. When the machine is moved to another field, the machine should be raised to the highest position, and the locking device should be used to lock the implement in the transport position.

12. For every 10 hours of work, check all fasteners, rotating blades, and gearbox oil level, and add lubricating oil or grease to all bearing grease nipples, the universal joint telescopic tube, the chain, and other parts. After each shift, promptly clean soil, straw, and weeds from the openers, rotating blades, and other parts. For every 50-80 hours of work, adjust the gear clearance once according to the instruction manual.

How should a wheat no-till seeder be used? Be sure to keep the above precautions firmly in mind. Compared with traditional planting methods, the promotion of no-till sowing has many superior performance advantages, such as drought resistance, water saving, moisture conservation, soil improvement, and cost saving with increased efficiency. Implementing no-till sowing is also an effective planting method for achieving full seedlings in a single spring sowing. In fields with some straw, stubble, and other unworked soil, the seeder can complete side deep fertilization, clearing of residual straw, ridging and shaping, sowing and ditching, soil covering, and compacting in one pass.
