What pesticide is needed for weed control in pepper fields?
Pepper has the effect of warming the middle and strengthening the stomach, and dispelling cold and drying dampness, and is widely cultivated, while weeds are very common during the pepper cultivation process. So what pesticide is needed for weed control in pepper fields? How should it be chosen? Let us take a look together.
First we need to understand that different pepper fields require different weeding methods and pesticides:
1. Direct-seeded fields
In direct-seeded fields, after sowing and before emergence, spray Shanghai Hulian Shitianwang 33% pendimethalin emulsifiable concentrate at 50-75 ml/mu. If both grass and broadleaf weeds are to be controlled, add 24% oxyfluorfen emulsifiable concentrate at 10-20 ml/mu to the above pesticide.
However, the following points need attention: (1) Try to level the land to avoid exposed seeds or too shallow sowing, which can cause phytotoxicity. (2) Use 30-40 kg of spray solution per mu, and try to spray evenly without re-spraying. (3) The pesticide dosage should not be increased at will. (4) Try to sow and spray according to the weather, and avoid continuous rainy weather at emergence after spraying, which can cause phytotoxicity; watering is also not advisable before and after emergence. (5) For film-mulched fields, it is not recommended to spray the solution directly under the film, so as to avoid phytotoxicity after emergence.
2. Transplanted fields
For transplanted fields, spray Hulian Shitianwang at 150-200 ml 1-3 days before planting. If both grass and broadleaf weeds are to be controlled, add 24% oxyfluorfen emulsifiable concentrate at 20-30 ml to these pesticides. However, note that during transplanting, the soil layer should be disturbed as little as possible.
If weeds appear during the growth period, only 10.8% haloxyfop-R-methyl emulsifiable concentrate at 20-40 ml, or 10% fenoxaprop-P-ethyl emulsifiable concentrate at 50-75 ml, may be used, sprayed on stems and leaves after the weeds have 3 expanded leaves, to control grass weeds.
3. Pesticide use during the growth period
Next, note: 1. Before pepper plants develop disease, or before rain or before preparing to irrigate, first spray the protective fungicide 68.75% DuPont equation at 1000 times; for fields with weak seedlings and yellowing leaves, add some high-quality foliar fertilizer such as Yishizhuang to supplement the lack of plant trace elements and prevent the spread and occurrence of physiological diseases.
Due to equation's unique rapid sterilization mechanism, after application it is highly resistant to rain washing, has a very strong redistribution ability after rain, and does not need re-spraying even if it rains. It has a dual protective effect and a longer lasting period (protection period reaches about 12 days). The sterilization spectrum is broader, it is effective against many diseases, and there is no need to mix other protective fungicides. Continuous use is unlikely to produce resistance, it contains multiple trace elements, and it stimulates better crop growth. The dosage is low, no pesticide traces are left on the fruit peel, the fruit appearance is clean, and the value is high.
2. If the spraying time is appropriate, spraying equation 2-3 times during the entire pepper growth period will inhibit the occurrence of other diseases and achieve excellent control effects.
The main reasons why pepper growers spray pesticides but the effect is still not very good are: unclear diagnosis of the disease, treating bacterial diseases as fungal diseases, and choosing the wrong pesticide, buying pesticides with insufficient active ingredient content just to save money, so the effect is poor. Generally, bacterial diseases occur less in pepper fields, and most are fungal diseases. During the disease period, we can choose 40% Fuxing emulsifiable concentrate at 8000-12000 times or 20.67% Wanxing emulsifiable concentrate at 2500 times for alternating use, which gives very good control effects against pepper anthracnose, powdery mildew, Fusarium wilt and other diseases. If Phytophthora blight occurs severely, 72% Kelu wettable powder at 600 times can be sprayed at the early stage, and Yikuaijing at 2500 times can be used at the middle and late stages.
Each time a fungicide is sprayed, an appropriate amount of insecticide such as Wanling at 2500 times or imported Kungfu at 3000 times can be added; if mite damage is severe, the highly effective acaricide Manjisi at 2500 times can be added, so as to control both diseases and insects.
Using good pesticides can reduce the number of applications and lower the cost of pesticide use. Applying the right pesticide to the right disease is the real goal. The principle of “prevention first, combining prevention and control, with prevention more important than control” is advocated.
