Black beans are also known as black soybeans, etc. Black beans have the characteristics of high protein and low calories, and can also detoxify, darken and blacken hair, and prolong life. So as a type of soybean, can they be pressed for oil? How much can one jin yield? It is reported that black beans can be pressed for oil, and with ordinary processing methods, the oil yield of soybean oil is about 30%.

How much oil can one jin of black beans yield?

Generally, it takes three jin of black beans to press one jin of oil, and the same goes for sesame: three jin of sesame to one jin of oil. For 100 jin of black beans, about 30-35 jin. This depends specifically on the quality of the black beans and the quality of the oil pressing equipment (pressing strength).

How to press oil from black beans

1. Control the stove fire. Generally, when using a flat-bottomed pan to roast beans for oil, the opening is only released after everything is fully roasted, and each time 1.5-2 kg of soybeans stick to the bottom of the pan and get scorched. If a movable slot is built into the wall of the stove opening and a movable iron plate is inserted, when high heat is needed, lift the iron plate upward to seal the stove opening; when low heat is needed, lower the iron plate to seal the air vent and open the upper stove opening to control the stove fire. Therefore, when the soybeans are roasted to 80% done, simply opening the upper stove opening and sealing the lower air vent can prevent the soybeans from scorching, thereby increasing the oil yield.

2. Modify the pressing screw. The Model 95 horizontal shaft-driven oil press is composed of pressing screws No. 1 to No. 9, among which No. 5 pressing screw is somewhat smaller than No. 6. When in use, an old No. 6 can be used to replace No. 5, which can increase the internal pressure and move the oil outlet position back by 8-10 cm. With this one improvement alone, every 100 kg of beans can yield 1-2 kg more oil.

3. Press with hot material. Oil molecules are most active at high temperatures, so pressing while hot can yield more oil. Therefore, the amount of beans roasted per batch is best controlled at 40-50 kg, and roasting should be followed immediately by pressing to ensure hot material is pressed.

Appendix: The effects and benefits of black beans

1. It helps lower blood cholesterol.

2. It softens blood vessels, moisturizes the skin, and delays aging. It is especially beneficial for patients with high blood pressure, heart disease, and other conditions.

3. It contains relatively high amounts of calcium, iron, phosphorus (every 100 grams of black beans contains 191 mg of calcium, 500 mg of phosphorus, 8.9 mg of iron, 3.86 mg of zinc, and 15.66 mg of selenium) and other minerals, as well as carotene and various nutrients needed by the human body, including multiple vitamins B1, B2, B12, and others.
