Before potting a newly bought flower pot, remove its "fire" first, otherwise no matter what flower you plant, it will easily die

A good flower paired with a pretty pot is the icing on the cake. A few days ago, a flower lover bought a beautiful pot and was in a hurry to repot, but Huahua stopped them. A newly bought flower pot cannot be used right away; it needs to be treated first, otherwise it is harmful to the flowers. Let's take a look~

Newly bought flower pots need their "fire" removed!

If you just bought a new flower pot, do not repot your flowers right away. This is not because the current time is unsuitable for repotting and the flowers will die once repotted. Rather, a new flower pot can only be used after its "fire" is removed, otherwise it is bad for the flowers.

Why can't it be used right away?

The most common flower pots are ceramic pots. This kind of pot is fairly breathable and fairly cheap, making it very cost-effective for growing flowers, so it is very popular.

But ceramic flower pots cannot be used immediately after purchase, because during the firing process they become very dry and contain substances such as sulfur, giving them "fire". If used immediately, they will compete with the plants for water.

So how should they be treated?

1. For a newly bought flower pot, first pour clean water into the pot and soak it for 2 or 3 days. This can completely remove the "fire" from the ceramic pot, so it will not compete with the plants for water.

2. Pour out the clean water from the ceramic pot, then let the ceramic pot air-dry naturally, and after that you can plant flowers.

Flower pots left idle for a long time need to be "disinfected"!

Because of climate, watering, fertilizing, improper pruning and so on, some flowers have bravely "sacrificed" themselves, leaving behind a pile of empty flower pots. Can these old flower pots be used to grow flowers again? Of course they can, but they need to be treated first~

Why can't they be used right away?

Empty flower pots that have been sitting for a long time can be used to grow flowers again, but they cannot be used immediately. Because they have been idle for a long time, pathogens from the soil and plants will remain in the pots, and using them right away will infect the new flowers.

So how should they be treated?

1. First rinse the old flower pot briefly to remove the dirt on the surface. Pour potassium permanganate solution into a large container, put the old flower pot in, and soak it for half a day. Take out the pot, rinse it clean with clean water, and after it dries it can be used.

2. If you do not have potassium permanganate solution, you can use potassium permanganate tablets instead. These can be bought at a pharmacy and are very cheap. Dissolve one tablet in water and soak the flower pot as above.

Add 1 extra step when repotting, and the flowers will grow stronger and stronger!

Generally, flowers that have been grown for 2 or 3 years need to be repotted and given fresh soil, so that the flowers can absorb more nutrients and thus grow better and bloom more!

Trim the roots when repotting, and the flowers will grow vigorously!

When repotting flowers, if you can take the opportunity to trim the flower's root system, this is very beneficial to the flower's growth.

Specific steps:

1. One week before repotting, stop watering the flowers. This makes it easier to remove the flowers from the pot and avoids damaging the plant's root system as much as possible.

2. Gently clean the soil off the flower's roots, then use sterilized scissors to trim off roots that are too long, too old, or have insect eggs. If there is rot, cut it all off.

3. After trimming, soak the flower's roots in carbendazim or potassium permanganate solution. After soaking for half an hour, take them out and let them dry. This can sterilize and disinfect them.

4. Then put sterilized potting soil into the flower pot, repot the flower, gently press the potting soil firm, then water thoroughly once. Place the flower in a cool place to recover for a week, and then it can be cared for normally.
