Combined with its unique health benefits, it is hailed by people as a treasure among pears. Its flowering period is from April to early May, and its fruiting period is August. Early fruiting, high yielding, storage-tolerant and transport-tolerant, the sand pear blooms and bears fruit in the second year after planting, and the fruit matures and hits the market in early November.

In China, it is cultivated in small quantities in Shandong Peninsula, Liaoning, Shanxi, Henan, Shaanxi, Jiangxi, Xinjiang, Gansu, Ningxia, Jiangsu and other provinces (municipalities and autonomous regions), and it has also been introduced in Guizhou Province.

Generally, it starts to hit the market every June and July and can last until September and October. Among them, the eggplant pear matures in early July in the Lingbao area, and can be harvested and brought to market in June.
