How many jin of sprouts can one jin of mung beans produce?

Fresh mung beans can produce at least 10 jin. My yield rate over the years has remained stable at over 10 jin, and I only need to sprout three liang of mung beans per week.

Sprouting method:

1. Select plump mung bean seeds that look relatively strong, and pick out those immature shriveled seeds, or seeds with scars, or seeds that have been attacked by insects.

2. Because the skin of mung beans is rather hard, if you want them to sprout as quickly as possible, you need to first soak them in warm water for ten hours, rinse them morning and evening, and promptly remove the bean skins that wash off.

3. Choose a container of an appropriate size according to the amount of seeds, lay a towel in the container, then put the mung beans in. Be careful that the towel is not too wet.

4. After placing the mung beans in the container, cover them with another towel and wrap the mung beans up. If the towel underneath is relatively large, you can also directly fold it over to wrap the beans. During the sprouting process, sprinkle an appropriate amount of water into the container.

5. During the beans' growth process, if you can place a heavy object weighing about two jin on top, it will not stop their growth, but will instead promote it, making them thicker and stronger.

6. When sprinkling water, warm water is preferable, and the indoor environment should be kept between 25 and 30 degrees. The container used for sprouting should be clean and sanitary. Generally, after about one week, you can harvest the mung bean sprouts.
