Spring is the first season of the year, and also the season when all things revive and compete to bloom. Whether vegetation or flowers, all sprout tender buds in spring, blooming with the beauty that belongs to spring. So which fruit trees bloom in spring? In which months do they open?

Peach, plum, apricot, pear, apple, crabapple and orange all bloom in spring.

1. The flowering period of the peach tree is generally in mid-April, and the fruiting period is from July to October.

Peach tree growth habits: buds break from early to mid-March, flowers and leaves appear in mid-April, fruit ripens from July to October, and leaves fall in early to mid-November.

2. The plum tree generally blooms around March. In North China it generally blooms from late March to late April, and in Northeast China from late April to early May.

3. The flowering period of the apricot tree is from March to April each year, blooming just before the leaves begin to sprout. After the flowers finish blooming, fruit will set, but the fruit ripens from June to July.

Its flower shape is very similar to that of plum or peach blossoms, but its flower colour is rather interesting, which is what the poem mentioned at the beginning of the article refers to: not truly white, yet not quite red either. When still in bud, it is rose red; looking out over them, the whole hand is full of small rose-red buds, very vivid, but as the flowers slowly open, the colour becomes lighter and lighter, and when the colour turns pure white, it means it is about to wither.

4. Pear trees actually bloom very concentratedly, all in spring, only the blooming time differs somewhat because of differences in distribution area and climate.

From the blooming times of pear trees in some regions we can discern some patterns. Generally in the Sichuan area, pear trees bloom around February, in the Hunan area, pear trees bloom around March, while in the Jilin area, pear trees bloom around May, and the difference in flowering period is very obvious.

The flowering period of apples differs greatly because of different climates in different places. Generally from April to May, each flower bud has 3~7 flowers, and the central flower opens first. Apple is a cross-pollinated plant, and most varieties cannot set fruit by self-pollination. The proportion of various types of fruiting branches varies with tree age and variety. Usually young trees have more long fruiting branches and medium fruiting branches; as the tree age increases, the proportion of short fruiting branches rises rapidly, and by the full fruiting stage it can generally reach over 70%, while in the senescent stage it is almost entirely short fruiting branches. From the perspective of varieties, varieties such as Golden Delicious have more long and medium fruiting branches, varieties such as New Red Star and Red Fuji have a large proportion of short fruiting branches, and varieties such as Liaofu easily form 6. Crabapple mainly blooms in spring, generally concentrated from March——April; if the maintenance temperature is relatively suitable, the weeping crabapple can also bloom early.

The flowers of the weeping crabapple are very gorgeous, with flowers growing in clusters, and the flower colour is generally pink. On slender, weak pedicels the flowers open, the flowers drooping, with ovate petals, and generally a single flower has more than 5 petals. The flowers of the weeping crabapple are highly ornamental.

7. The growth process of the orange is much the same as that of other fruits. Because the climate of north and south differs, generally from February to March each year, the orange tree begins to send out tender buds, and before long, the orange tree is covered with small pure white flowers. From May to June, the leaves of the orange tree change from tender green to dark green, and the orange tree is covered with round oranges, but the oranges are only as big as a little finger, and then as time goes on they slowly grow bigger, and their colour also changes from light green to dark green. When autumn arrives, the oranges turn dark red, bending the branches down. From September to November, the oranges can be harvested.
