For new mothers, breastfeeding is highly desired, but sometimes milk supply is not enough, and at this point they think of ways to promote and boost lactation, such as drinking rice-paper plant pig trotter soup or rice-paper plant crucian carp soup. However, can the rice-paper plant cooked in pig trotter soup or crucian carp soup actually be eaten? Can rice-paper plant be used to stew pork ribs? What exactly is the specific method?
Rice-paper plant is a commonly used traditional Chinese medicine. It is the stem pith of Tetrapanax papyrifer, a plant in the Araliaceae family. It enters the lung and stomach meridians and clears heat and promotes diuresis; it promotes lactation and is used for strangury with painful urination; difficult urination; edema; jaundice; damp-warm disease; scanty dark urine; postpartum insufficient milk; amenorrhea; and leukorrhea. Its most common use is probably for postpartum lactation promotion.
Therefore, rice-paper plant belongs to the category of lactation-promoting medicines. Postpartum women can take it, and it has no effect on milk quality and will not cause side effects in newborns. It is generally put into various soups and cooked for eating. Crucian carp soup, pig trotter soup, and pork rib soup can all use it. It is best to rotate among different soups so that the nutrition in the milk will be more comprehensive.
Since milk contains 90% water, it is necessary to drink more soups and fluids, such as chicken soup, pig trotter soup, crucian carp and tofu soup, rice-paper plant crucian carp soup, and bone and vegetable soup.
Many mothers actually have an urgent need when drinking this soup, but that does not mean the more they drink, the more effective it is. It can be eaten three times a day, but it is best to have a balanced diet. Drinking this soup at lunch and dinner is enough, that is, drinking it twice a day. Too much is not good either because of excess nutrition. Once milk supply is sufficient, mothers can switch to drinking other soups, because only in this way can the nutrition the baby absorbs be richer.
