Where is authentic Cordyceps sinensis (the king of cordyceps) produced, and what documents are needed for cultivation?
Cordyceps sinensis, also known as Cordyceps and cordyceps, is a relatively precious medicinal herb in our country. Because it has effects such as stopping bleeding and resolving blood stasis, tonifying the kidney and benefiting the lung, it is widely used as medicine. At present, it is cultivated in many areas of our country. So where is Cordyceps sinensis produced? Where is the authentic production area? What documents are needed for cultivation?
Production areas:
Cordyceps sinensis is mainly distributed in high-altitude areas of about 4000 m above sea level in Qinghai, Tibet, Sichuan, Yunnan, Guizhou and Gansu in our country. Based on different production areas, professionals further divide it into Qinghai cordyceps, Tibetan cordyceps, Sichuan cordyceps, Yunnan cordyceps, etc. Cordyceps produced in Qinghai and Tibet is also collectively called Tibetan Cordyceps sinensis.
Good production areas:
Generally speaking, the internal quality of Cordyceps sinensis produced in Qinghai and Tibet is better than that from other places. It is very popular on the market, and its selling price is also relatively high. Because wild Cordyceps sinensis has a narrow distribution area, a low natural parasitism rate and strict requirements for living environment conditions, its resources are relatively limited. The quality of Cordyceps sinensis basically follows this rule: the higher the altitude, the better the quality of cordyceps.
Classification of cordyceps:
1. Cordyceps hawkesii: also called Hawkes cordyceps. The stroma grows from the center of the insect head and does not wrap around the entire insect head; the top of the stroma is round, the four feet in the middle are not very prominent, the ring patterns are not as obvious as those of genuine cordyceps, and forked grass heads appear relatively often. (Genuine cordyceps can also have this situation, but among several hundred specimens one may see only one with a fork, so this situation must be identified based on other characteristics.) Other external features are basically the same. Some Cordyceps hawkesii have whitish insect bodies and are relatively easy to identify, while others are yellow and more difficult to identify.
2. Liangshan cordyceps: The insect body is thick and short, the surface is brownish black, with numerous ring patterns and covered with rust-colored hairs. The stroma is long, greatly exceeding the insect body, and can reach 30 cm. The branches are slender and crooked, and the head of the fruiting body is a full column shape or club-shaped. The feet are not obvious. A small number of “grass parts” have branches at the top.
3. Xinjiang cordyceps: The insect body resembles a silkworm, the surface is dark red to purple red, and the insect body is relatively hard in texture. The stroma is usually absent. (The above are counterfeit products.) Xinjiang cordyceps counterfeits are relatively easy to identify.
Documents that need to be processed:
If it is a company, health certificates for at least two people are also required. If the business scope includes tonic foods, a food circulation permit is also required. As for what other certificates are needed, it is necessary to clearly state all of your business products to know. Some tonics fall within the scope of the Catalogue for the Administration of Chinese Medicinal Materials. If your business scope covers medicinal materials, a pharmaceutical business license may also be required.
