How much is the seed price per jin? How is it planted? Can it be placed in the bedroom?According to the Jiangsu flower planting base, the seed price of Iris lactea is around 20-30 yuan per jin, and the sowing rate per mu is 4-5 jin.
When does Iris lactea generally bloom?
The flowering period of Iris lactea is generally between April and June. In the north, the flowers can bloom for about 50 days, while in the south they can bloom twice. Its flowers are 2.5-6 cm wide, the plant is 35-85 cm tall, and the flowering period is 85-120 days, with slight differences from region to region.
How is Iris lactea planted?
1. Nursery site selection
The quality of the soil directly determines the quality of flower growth. If the soil is especially good and the growing environment is especially good, then staff management will be much easier. Iris lactea is not strict about soil; it can be sandy gravel soil, yellow soil, or clay, but soil with a high sand content generally has ordinary germination. Iris lactea is cold-resistant, drought-resistant, and waterlogging-resistant. The planting site should be flat and good for drainage. When the dog days come and rain increases, the rainwater must be able to drain away immediately, otherwise some seedlings will die. The key for the nursery must be good drainage; ordinary soil is fine, and sunlight should be sufficient.
2. Land preparation
1. Deep plowing: Iris lactea is very sensitive to fertility. When the soil fertility is sufficient, the flowers are large and vivid, and the plants are robust. The soil of many landscaping sites is basically nursery land with ordinary fertility. For this reason, to have vivid flowers, sufficient green manure still needs to be applied before planting, spreading 5,000-7,000 kg of cow dung and chicken manure per mu. After fertilizing, plow the land once and harrow it once. Only in this way will the soil and nutrients be fully and evenly mixed together, with no large clods of soil, making planting easier and improving the germination rate.
2. Making beds: In order to facilitate the watering, weed clearing, fertilizer spreading, and other maintenance management needed during the one-year growth period of Iris lactea seedlings, Changjing Landscape recommends making the land into standard 1.6 m wide beds, with a total length of 15-20 m, depending on the actual terrain.
3. Sowing
The seeds of Iris lactea are ordinary in size and have strong seedling emergence ability. It is recommended to plant them very shallowly, with a soil covering thickness of no more than 5 cm. Most people choose the broadcast sowing method. Under calm wind conditions, mix the Iris lactea seeds with wet sand, then broadcast them onto the ground. After sowing, you can choose manual raking to cover soil or mechanical raking to cover soil. After covering with soil, water once, and after about 5-12 days the germination rate can be improved.
4. Seedling stage management
There are fewer maintenance tasks during the growth period of Iris lactea. It has no pests or diseases and has strong growth momentum. The key work is mostly concentrated during the flowering period. Before flowering, apply 35 kg of quick-acting fertilizer per mu. Fertilizing before flowering is to lengthen the flowering time, increase the number of flowers, and make the colors more beautiful. Do not fertilize during the full flowering period. When Iris lactea is blooming, it needs more water. At this time, water according to weather conditions when the opportunity arises.
Can Iris lactea be placed in the bedroom?
