Dragon fruit, also known as red dragon fruit, green dragon fruit, immortal honey fruit, and jade dragon fruit, is a relatively common fruit in the tropical regions of our country. Because of its high nutritional value, it can not only be eaten as a fruit but also used to make salads, so many people like to eat it. So what is the latest price of dragon fruit per jin? Can the seedlings be transplanted? When is the best time to transplant? How to plant them?

Latest price:

The wholesale price of dragon fruit is generally 6~7 yuan/jin; the retail price is a bit more expensive at 8~12 yuan/jin. Red-fleshed dragon fruit is generally about 8.5 yuan per jin.

Transplanting time:

Dragon fruit can be planted all year round. To plant as early as possible and give the dragon fruit sufficient time to grow and recover after planting, Farming Helper suggests transplanting from March to November is best.

Transplanting method:

After the dragon fruit planting site is determined, the beds need to be prepared. Within the 3 m row spacing, leave 1 m on the inner side as a walkway for people, and use the 2 m wide strip at the base of the support frame and cement posts as the planting bed, with a bed height of 40 cm. Apply some decomposed organic fertilizer, granular organic fertilizer, etc. in the bed and mix evenly with the soil. Because the root system of dragon fruit is a shallow root that grows horizontally and has no main root, with lateral roots distributed in large numbers in the shallow surface layer of the soil, it is advisable to plant at a depth of 3-5 cm when setting them in place. After planting the dragon fruit seedlings, cover with topsoil and press the seedlings slightly firm, and never plant the seedlings upside down. Water once after planting, and thereafter maintain soil moisture at 60%~80%.

Note: If planting red-fleshed dragon fruit, a certain red-skinned white-fleshed pollinating variety should be arranged, with the ratio of pollinating variety to main planted variety being 1:8, so that they can pollinate each other and increase the fruit-setting rate.

Watering in the early transplanting stage

After planting dragon fruit, water once to settle the roots. In the early transplanting stage, water once every 2~3 days, and thereafter just keep the soil moist. You can also spread some straw, rice husks, etc. on the surface to suppress weeds and retain moisture.

If continuous rainy weather occurs in the early transplanting stage, drain promptly to avoid infection by pathogens causing the stem flesh to rot.
