How to care for a potted Impatiens blepharosepala so it grows well
1. The habits of this plant
Because it is a tropical tree species, its requirements for temperature are relatively high, and its requirements for humidity are equally high. Its cold tolerance is not good; in winter, if it encounters low temperatures of 5 to 8 degrees, it may be harmed, so we must pay attention to this. Next is light: it likes light and does not tolerate shade. There are also some requirements it has for soil, which we will mention later. Finally, it also has quite a few requirements for fertilizer.
2. Specific methods
(1) Temperature: we need to adjust differently depending on the region. If it is in southern South China, Guangdong Province and nearby places, it can generally overwinter safely; if it is an especially cold year, there may be cold damage, so appropriate cold protection measures need to be taken. If it is in northern South China, including North China, then in winter we need to move it indoors or into a greenhouse.
(2) Try to let the potted plant receive as much light as possible; no shading measures are needed even at noon, because it is not afraid of strong sunlight.
(3) Soil: what it likes is slightly acidic soil; sandy soil or relatively heavy clay soil are both acceptable.
(4) Fertilizer: when planting, we can mix some cake fertilizer (after full decomposition) into the potting soil as a base fertilizer. In addition, when the plant is growing relatively quickly, and when it is about to bloom, we need to apply some fertilizer containing more N element. In this way, it will have luxuriant branches and leaves, and the quality of the flowers will be good and the quantity will be large. During the peak flowering period, topdressing is needed, and all kinds of elements are required.
