What is the method of use? From the Changsha flower and bird market, we learned that flower nutrient solutions currently on the market are roughly divided into two types: the ones with good effects cost about 10 yuan, and those produced by small manufacturers cost about 5 yuan.

How is ordinary flower nutrient solution prepared?

In flower cultivation, using solid fertilizer not only makes the amount difficult to control, but is also rather troublesome. If liquid fertilizer is used, using nutrient solution to grow flowers is both convenient and effective. The most commonly used flower nutrient solutions are the following two:

(1) Potassium nitrate 0.7 g/L, boric acid 0.0006 g/L, calcium nitrate 0.7 g/L, manganese sulfate 0.0006 g/L, superphosphate 0.8 g/L, zinc sulfate 0.0006 g/L, magnesium sulfate 0.28 g/L, copper sulfate 0.0006 g/L, ferric sulfate 0.12 g/L, ammonium sulfate 0.0006 g/L. Method of use: when using, mix the various compounds together, add 1 L of water, and it becomes nutrient solution, which can be used to water flowers directly. When the amount used is large, mix and use it in proportion as needed.

(2) Urea 5 g, potassium dihydrogen phosphate 3 g, calcium sulfate 1 g, magnesium sulfate 0.5 g, zinc sulfate 0.001 g, ferric sulfate 0.003 g, copper sulfate 0.001 g, manganese sulfate 0.003 g, boric acid powder 0.002 g, add 10 L of water, and after fully dissolving it becomes nutrient solution. Method of use: during the growing period of potted flowers, water once a week, with the amount each time determined by the size of the plant. For sun-loving flowers, about 100 mL each time, while for shade-loving flowers reduce as appropriate. In winter or during the dormant period, once every 1 month. For ordinary watering, still use tap water.

Notes on preparing nutrient solution:

(1) When preparing nutrient solution, use glass, enamel, ceramic and other containers, and never use metal containers.

(2) When preparing, first use a small amount of warm water at 50°C to dissolve each element separately, then pour it into the water, stirring while pouring, and mix thoroughly.

(3) When using tap water to prepare nutrient solution, add a small amount of humic acid compounds to treat the chloride and sulfide in the water; in rural areas, river water or lake water can be used directly for preparation.

What is the method of use for ordinary flower nutrient solution?

(1) The container holding the nutrient solution should be made of ceramic, plastic or glass material, and iron products cannot be used, otherwise the nutrient solution will become ineffective. It is best to mix it as it is used. The amount of solution given should be determined according to the size of the plant and the volume of the flower pot. If the amount is too much, the plant cannot absorb it, and some may even cause poisoning; if the amount is insufficient, it cannot promote growth. Each fertilization amount should be controlled at about 0.5% of the flower pot volume.

(2) After adding the nutrient solution, we can gently shake the container with our hands more than 10 times, so that the dissolved oxygen content of the nutrient solution can increase by about 30%.

(3) Spring and summer are the peak growing seasons for plants, and the fertilizer requirement is relatively large, so generally fertilize once every half month. By autumn, the fertilization amount should gradually decrease, and watering it once every 1~2 months is enough, while in winter, due to low temperatures, the plant enters the dormant period and stops growing, so no fertilization is needed.

(4) But if the plant has already taken shape, even during the peak growing season, it only needs occasional watering with a small amount of nutrient solution, once every 3~6 months. If fertilized too frequently, the plant will continue to grow, thereby destroying its original shape.

(5) The container filled with nutrient solution should be made of ceramic, plastic or glass material, and iron products cannot be used, otherwise the nutrient solution will become ineffective. It is best to mix it as it is used.

(6) For hydroponic plants with added nutrient solution, the water should be changed frequently. Under normal circumstances, change the water once every 5 to 10 days in spring and autumn; change the water about once every 5 days in summer; and change the water once every 10 to 15 days in winter. At present, there are many types of nutrient solutions sold on the market, so their instructions should be read carefully and they should be treated differently.
