Summer Pesticide Spraying Precautions and How to Use a Sprayer Tank
Summer is the time when crops grow rapidly, and it is also the time when pests and diseases occur frequently, so pesticides need to “take the stage”. So what are the precautions for spraying pesticides in summer? How do you use a sprayer tank to spray?
What are the precautions for spraying pesticides in summer?
1. At midday in midsummer, temperatures are high, and applying pesticides can easily cause pesticide poisoning, which is harmful to human health. Therefore, pesticide application should be scheduled before 9 a.m. and after 4 p.m., when the control effect of pesticide application is best.
2. Many pests only come out in the evening. For example, pests such as rice stem borers fear heat and light, so they hide at midday when temperatures are high and light is strong, resulting in poor pesticide effects when applying at high midday temperatures.
3. Applying pesticides at high midday temperatures increases the crop's burden of water supply due to crop transpiration, causing pesticide damage to the tender leaf parts of the crops.
4. The pesticide solution volatilizes easily under high midday temperatures, reducing pesticide efficacy and control effectiveness.
5. Do not mix pesticides with sewage. Sewage contains many impurities; using it to mix pesticides easily clogs the nozzle and can also destroy the suspension properties of the pesticide, causing precipitation.
6. Do not mix pesticides with well water. Well water contains relatively many minerals. After these minerals mix with pesticides, they easily undergo chemical reactions, forming precipitates and reducing pesticide efficacy.
7. Do not abuse pesticides. Corresponding pesticides should be selected according to the different crop types, control targets and pesticide properties, truly achieving targeted application. Abusing pesticides often causes pesticide damage.
8. Do not spray pesticides before harvest. Generally, the residual period of highly toxic pesticides is about 60 days; the residual period of high-efficiency, low-toxicity pesticides is about 15 days. Spraying pesticides before harvest easily causes food poisoning.
How do you use a sprayer tank to spray?
1. Add water to the sprayer tank. Open the lid, add an appropriate amount of water, and ensure it is enough to use on one plot of land.
2. Add pesticide in an appropriate proportion. Add pesticide in an amount appropriate to how much pesticide is needed per mu of land.
3. Put on the sprayer tank. Carry the tank on your back, and put the two straps over both shoulders.
4. Spray the pesticide. Press the pressure valve of the pesticide tank up and down with your left hand to increase the pressure inside the tank, and hold the spray wand with your right hand facing the vegetables; after a moment, the pesticide will spray out.
