How to Make Dried Forget-Me-Not Flowers: A Few Simple Steps to Finish Easily
Fresh flowers are beautiful and good-looking, but they wither easily, and when they fade they always give people a faint sadness. How can this beauty be made to last? Today I will introduce a beautiful flower that can be made into dried flowers and displayed for a long time. It is the forget-me-not. The forget-me-not is beautiful and pretty in appearance, and its flowers come in all kinds of colors; the more common ones are deep purple, blue, peach red, pink and pale yellow. Below I will introduce the method for making dried forget-me-not flowers.
1. Choosing the material
Choose fresh forget-me-nots that have not rotted; deep purple and watered blue are recommended (these two colors are more common and easy to buy at flower shops). When choosing forget-me-nots, it is worth noting that you should choose buds or half-open flowers, not fully blooming forget-me-nots; when fully blooming forget-me-nots are made into dried flowers, the petals press against each other, and the finished product does not look good in the end. After forget-me-nots are made into dried flowers, the color does not change, only becoming slightly lighter than fresh flowers. Other materials include one sheet each of colored paper and cake paper, colored ribbon, scissors and adhesive tape.
2. Trimming and arranging the flowers
Cut the forget-me-nots apart at the branching points so that each flower becomes an individual flower, which makes it convenient to arrange the shape later; leave 25 to 30 cm of stem.
3. Bundling and air-drying
Arrange the trimmed forget-me-nots neatly one by one, paying attention to setting every angle well, until they become a hemispherical bouquet. Tie the lower end of the forget-me-not bouquet with tape, find a cool, ventilated place and hang it upside down for about half a month, until the flower stems change from emerald green to yellow-green; generally after this long the forget-me-nots will have dried in the shade. Remember that you must hang them upside down to air-dry; if they are not hung upside down, the flowers droop during drying and do not look good.
4. Arranging the shape
Wrap the air-dried forget-me-nots on the outside with cake paper, and fix them again at the place where they were fixed last time. Trim the colored paper into a trapezoid, then cut the top and bottom into arcs. Wrap the assorted paper outside the cake paper, tie the lower end well with colored ribbon and make a bow. Finally, trim the exposed excess stems neatly, and it is all done.
The finished dried forget-me-nots can be displayed indoors for a very long time, and for up to more than a year they will not change color; be careful not to expose them to direct sunlight, otherwise they will fade quickly. Friends who have forget-me-nots at home may as well try it by hand; forget-me-nots represent eternal memory and love, and putting the finished dried forget-me-nots in the living room or giving them to friends are both good choices.
