When is the best time to plant soybeans? Get these five points right and a high yield is not hard
Soybean is a common crop in China, grown by almost every household, and because it is easy to grow and low in investment cost, it has a certain market prospect. So when is the best time to plant profitable soybeans? What are the cultivation techniques?
1. Is growing soybeans profitable?
Soybean does not refer only to yellow soybean; it also includes black soybean and green soybean. Soybean is comprehensive and rich in nutrients, among which the protein content is 2 times higher than that of pork and 2.5 times that of eggs. The protein content is not only high but also of good quality. The amino acid composition of soybean protein is similar to that of animal protein, and the amino acids are relatively close to the ratio needed by the human body, so it is easily digested and absorbed. If soybean is eaten together with meat foods and egg foods, its nutrition can compare with that of eggs and milk, and even exceed the nutrition of eggs and milk.
2. When is the best time to plant soybean?
The planting time of soybean changes according to the weather, and its planting time is generally mainly divided into spring sowing and summer sowing. Spring sowing is carried out around Qingming, and the harvest period is September (the 8th lunar month). Summer sowing is carried out after the wheat harvest, with harvest from late September to mid-October. In addition, there is another type in Northeast China whose sowing period is a little later, but the harvest period is about the same. In northern China, spring soybean is sown from April to May; the Huang-Huai-Hai summer soybean type is sown in June after the wheat harvest; southern summer soybean is generally sown from May to early June, and autumn soybean from late July to early August.
3. What are the soybean cultivation techniques?
1. Seed selection and treatment: it is best to choose a variety with a growth period about 5 days longer than that of the local area. The seed purity is required to be higher than 98%, the cleanliness higher than 97%, the germination rate higher than 95%, and the moisture content lower than 13%. Before sowing, all seeds are coated. Before sowing, all seeds use 35% Duokefu seed coating agent, and soybean is seed-dressed at a medicine-to-seed ratio of 1.75.
2. Land selection and land preparation: choose relatively flat highland or flat land, and wheat stubble or corn stubble with loose soil, good soil texture and good drainage is acceptable. There should be fewer than 5 clods larger than 5cm per sq m, the ploughing depth is 2 to 15cm, and the subsoiling depth is more than 25cm, reaching a ready-to-sow state.
3. Scientific fertilization: apply 15 tons of organic fertilizer (organic matter content above 80%) per hectare, applied once as base fertilizer in combination with land preparation. Apply 175 kg of chemical fertilizer per hectare, including 125 kg of diammonium phosphate, 25 kg of urea and 25 kg of potassium sulfate fertilizer. Implement separate deep application of seed fertilizer or side deep application, with the side deep application distance 6-8cm from the seed.
4. Precision sowing: sowing can begin when the local temperature stably passes 7 to 8°C. With a row spacing of 75cm, alternating rows covered with film and a seedling spacing of 3cm, use special film-covering machinery for precision sowing, completing fertilization, pressing and film covering in one pass. Keep 220,000 to 250,000 seedlings per hectare. The sowing rate is about 70 kg per hectare. Achieve uniform sowing with no broken strips, a sowing rate error of plus or minus 3%, a sowing depth of 5cm, a row spacing error of plus or minus 1cm, and uniform film covering. Agricultural film with a thickness of 0.008 mm and a width of 1 m should be selected, and the film dosage is about 50 kg per hectare.
5. Chemical weeding: 3 days after sowing, soil sealing treatment can be carried out, using 800 to 1000 ml of 90% acetochlor + 150 to 300 g of 70% Saike wettable powder, diluted with 125 to 150 kg of water, and sprayed onto the soil.
4. What are the precautions for growing soybean?
1. Temperature: because it originated in tropical regions and likes a high-temperature and high-humidity environment, it has very strict requirements for winter temperature, and cannot overwinter safely in areas where frost occurs.
2. Light: it has no strict requirements for light, likes sufficient sunlight, and also tolerates half shade.
3. Fertilizer and water: for potted plants, in addition to adding organic fertilizer when potting, proper fertilizer and water management should also be carried out during ordinary care.
Overall, growing soybean is still profitable, but basic management work such as water and fertilizer, temperature and light needs to be done well, so that benefits can be improved.
