How do you care for a spider plant so it grows lush and vigorous? A detailed guide to care methods
1. The habits of this plant
Only by understanding its habits can we know what is good for it. First, its requirements for temperature and humidity are warmth and moisture. The most suitable temperature range for its growth is 15 to 25 degrees, and the most suitable of all is 20 to 24 degrees, so if you want it to grow vigorously, temperature is a factor that cannot be ignored. Second, its requirement for light is semi-shade; it cannot receive no light at all, nor can it be exposed to overly intense light. Then there is the soil, whose nutrients play a special role in its vigorous growth.
2. Specific methods
(1) Temperature: We have already mentioned above the most suitable temperature for its growth, so in the three seasons of spring, summer and autumn, just try to keep it at the optimal degree. However, in winter, even if you cannot guarantee the optimum, it must still be above 5°C, otherwise it will not be able to survive the winter safely.
(2) Water: Because it likes moisture, the potting soil is best kept in a consistently moist state. Especially in summer, you must water it thoroughly. In addition, you can also frequently spray some water on its leaves, so they will not become dry and withered. Ensuring sufficient water is of great significance to keeping a spider plant vigorous.
(3) As for sunlight, you can place it somewhere that receives diffused light. In spring, summer and autumn, try to avoid direct sunlight. In winter, it can get a bit more sun.
(4) If we want the plant to grow vigorously, then the growing medium must be chosen to be rich in humus. So, we can choose humus soil or peat soil, and mix in a little base fertilizer.
