How to grow Clivia miniata with eggs? Sharing the correct method

Flowers & Gardening 0 views
This is a perennial herbaceous plant. Why is it called "Clivia"? That is because we generally believe this plant has the grace of a gentleman, and its flowers resemble orchids, hence the name. Besides being used for ornamental purposes, it is also very good for the environment and as a medicinal plant, so it is widely cultivated. If you want to grow it well, we can make use of one item - eggs. Some people may find this strange, so let's take a specific look below.

1. Why use eggs to grow it

We all know that eggs contain very rich nutrients. If egg white or eggshells are placed on top of the potting soil, they can provide the plant with ample nutrients, especially trace elements. Eggshells can even be used as a substitute for bone meal.

2. Specific methods

(1) The first method is to collect the egg liquid, seal it well, and let it fully ferment. After fermentation is complete, take out the clearer liquid on top and dilute it with plenty of water. Generally speaking, keeping the ratio of egg liquid to water at 1 to 10 is sufficient. After mixing them evenly, you can pour them into the potting soil.

(2) In addition, the water used to boil eggs can also be used for watering. This liquid is easier to absorb than egg liquid, because egg liquid is basically made up of very large protein molecules, which are not easy to absorb. By comparison, water from boiling eggs is easier to absorb.

(3) Furthermore, do not waste the remaining eggshells; they can be placed directly on top of the soil, and after they rot they can also provide some nutrients.

3. Precautions

(1) First of all, it is not acceptable to directly pour egg liquid onto the soil. This is because, no matter which nutrient element the plant absorbs, it must go through the medium of water; that is to say, the nutrient elements must dissolve in water before they can be absorbed by the plant. Otherwise, the large protein molecules in the egg liquid cannot be absorbed by the plant's root system.

(2) In addition, when pouring the liquid onto the soil, be sure to pour it slowly, and it is best not to splash too much liquid onto the plant's leaves.
