Peanut sprouts are one of the vegetables many friends love to eat, and since they are so convenient to buy now, they can be found in many large supermarkets and vegetable markets. In fact, the growing techniques for peanut sprouts are not difficult either. Today, the editor will introduce peanut sprout growing techniques, as well as how to cook them.

I. Peanut Sprout Growing Techniques

1) Growing Preparation

1. Variety: Choose small-seeded peanut varieties, and use new seeds from the current year that are plump, uniform in size, undamaged, with strong germination vigor and a high germination rate.

2. Site: Peanut sprout production has strict requirements for temperature and humidity conditions and generally does not need light, but it does require fresh, flowing air. An idle living room or an old empty room can be used.

3. Container: Foam boxes of various specifications can be used. Generally, choose a box 60 cm long, 40 cm wide, and 25 cm high, with a flat bottom and drainage and ventilation holes.

2) Sowing Method

1. Seed selection: Use new seeds from the current year, preferably small-seeded white-skinned peanut varieties, and choose seeds that are plump, uniform in size, intact, and have a germination rate above 95%.

2. Seed soaking: Soak the selected seeds in clean water for 12 to 24 hours so they fully absorb water and swell. Then remove the seeds, rinse them 2 to 3 times with clean water, and proceed to sprouting.

3. Sprouting: Sprouting should be done in seedling trays. Sow the soaked seeds directly into the trays, then stack the trays to sprout. A temperature of 22 to 25°C is suitable.

4. Sowing: Clean and disinfect the growing container, then place the germinated seeds in the tray. Sow about 500 grams per tray, but place them in a single layer and do not pile them up.

3) Growing Management

1. Seed culling: 2 to 3 days after sowing peanuts, when the sprouts are 1 cm long, remove all the seed kernels that have not sprouted.

2. Temperature: The suitable growing temperature for peanut sprouts is 18 to 25°C. In summer, spray more water to cool them down, and in winter, strengthen insulation.

3. Watering: Water 3 to 4 times daily, preferably with clean well water. Water enough to wet all the sprouts and soak the growing medium through.

4. Light: During cultivation, the room should remain dim and must not be exposed to light; otherwise, the peanut sprouts will turn green, affecting their appearance and taste.

5. Harvest: Under normal growing conditions, from sowing to harvest takes 7 to 8 days in summer and autumn, and 8 to 10 days in winter and spring.

II. Peanut Sprout Recipes

1. Stir-Fried Peanut Sprouts

Peanut sprouts can be cleaned and stir-fried directly, using peanut oil together with garlic leaves. Stir-fried peanut sprouts taste sweet and delicious, and both the elderly and children love them.

2. Peanut Sprouts Stir-Fried with Meat

Marinate half a jin of pork belly in advance, then wash the peanut sprouts and drain them for later use. First stir-fry the meat for two minutes, then add the peanut sprouts. Marinating the meat in advance is to reduce its gamey smell and also to make it more flavorful.
