Anyone who has fields at home for growing and cultivating crops is certainly familiar with herbicides. Necessary weeding work must be done at various times each year to create a clean environment for vegetables and fruits. Weeds grow fast in summer, and there are quite a few in winter too, which is truly a headache. So are you clear about when is the best time to apply herbicide?

When is the best time to apply herbicide?

Applying herbicide mainly starts from several aspects, first of all the weather issue:

1. Sunny days

When applying herbicide on a sunny day with high temperatures, it is recommended that everyone go after 4-5 PM. This time period is when the sun gradually fades during the day, and after a night of absorption, the weeds will also be eliminated to a certain degree. Some friends may wonder why not apply in the morning, since morning temperatures are low. Actually, applying herbicide in the morning is not recommended. When applying herbicide in the morning, the entire liquid absorption needs a process (generally about five to six hours). Before the weeds have fully absorbed it, the noon sun comes out, and the sun will accelerate the evaporation of the liquid. In this case, the amount of herbicide liquid absorbed by the weeds is reduced, and the weeding effect is not very good.

2. Cloudy days

When applying herbicide on cloudy days, more attention should be paid to rain conditions. On cloudy days there is no direct sunlight, so the evaporation speed of the herbicide liquid is not as fast as on sunny days. However, it mainly still depends on the temperature of the day. If the temperature is high on a cloudy day, it is still recommended that everyone apply herbicide in the afternoon. If there are those who want to spray in the morning (when the dew has gone), they can also spray. The main reason is similar to that for sunny days.

Actually, whether it is sunny or cloudy, the editor does not recommend applying herbicide at noon. In addition to the above factors, noon is high temperature and can easily cause heatstroke. If a person goes alone to the field to weed at noon, and heatstroke happens, it is still very dangerous.

Then there is the reason of the planting subject, divided into small-scale growers and large-scale growers:

1. Small-scale growers

Small-scale growers, that is, what we call individual planting. There is mainly one principle for small-scale growers applying herbicide: it is not recommended to go at noon. And if the planting area is relatively large, it is best to do it over separate days. Do not think about finishing everything in one day; for crops, the impact is not great.

2. Large-scale growers

Large-scale growers mainly refer to cooperatives, farms and other collective operations. Large-scale growers generally hire hourly workers for weeding and pay wages by the number of days, which can also be managed effectively. If wages are calculated by the number of days, then applying in the afternoon is certainly not cost-effective. So for this kind of situation, everyone should also treat it dialectically and can avoid the hottest time at noon to do it.

That is all the editor will introduce to everyone today about the time for weeding. Weeding must suit the local conditions; whichever method is most correct, follow that.
