High-yield pea cultivation techniques: remember these 3 points
Today, we are going to talk about high-yield pea cultivation techniques. We all know that peas have good market prospects, but what should you do if the peas you grow yourself sometimes do not have high yields? Follow the Tubagri editor below and let's find some tips together~
1. Variety selection
1. Peas are a cold-loving long-day crop. If you want to grow them in all four seasons, you must select varieties that are light-tolerant, cold-tolerant, heat-tolerant, early-maturing and stress-resistant. After years of experiments, Zhongwan No. 4 and Zhongwan No. 6 were selected from eight varieties including the Zhongwan series, Zhenzhu Lu and Baiyu Pea.
2. These two varieties have advantages such as being insensitive to light, having a short growing period, a high sowing period, high yield and excellent quality. With the application of cultivation facilities such as plastic film greenhouses and shade-net sheds, peas can be successfully cultivated in all four seasons.
2. Apply protective facilities
1. Anti-freezing measures
Pea No. 4 and No. 6 have strong freezing resistance at the seedling stage, but their freezing resistance drops sharply after flowering, and the pods need a certain temperature during the grain-filling stage. Therefore, plastic film should be fastened and covered in time to keep them warm. Before a short-term strong cold wave arrives, cold-protection materials should temporarily be used as cover to protect the young green pods from freeze damage.
2. Shading and cooling measures
Prevent freezing in winter and provide sun protection in summer. In summer, peas grow quickly and have a short growing period, but the pods are small. So we need to bring the temperature down and block some light. A shade net can be added, which can also increase soil moisture, promote the growth of individual plants and increase yield.
3. Timely harvest
1. Due to different growing seasons and cultivation methods, the number of days from flowering to green pods differs. In summer, because of high temperatures, the pods grow very quickly, and it is only twenty days from flowering to harvest.
2. In winter cultivation, it takes from flowering to harvest. Therefore, for more than thirty days, we must flexibly master the harvest date according to the use of the pods. Mainly for green pods, harvest before the pods have fully swollen, the beans have reached seventy percent, and the pods begin to change color.
Alright, the above is the high-yield pea cultivation technique brought to you by the Tubagri editor. Wishing everyone a good harvest. See you next time
