Detailed Explanation of Key Technical Points for Tea Seedling Cultivation and Planting
Do you all know what tea seedling cultivation and planting techniques are? Now let the editor of Tuliu.com tell you about them~
1. Land preparation and trenching
(1) Dig planting trenches. Choose a suitable plot (with a pH value between 5.5 and 6.5), and level the garden plot well. For double-row strip planting, the specifications are a large row spacing of 120 cm, a small row spacing of 33 cm, and a cluster spacing of 30 cm. The planting trench is 50 cm wide and 50 cm deep, with the bottom layer loosened by 10 cm. When digging the trench, the topsoil and subsoil are required to be piled separately. When backfilling, bury the topsoil in the bottom layer and place the subsoil on the surface layer. For single-row strip planting, the planting specifications are a row spacing of 110 cm and a cluster spacing of 33 cm; planting trench: 30 cm wide, 50 cm deep, with the bottom layer loosened by 10 cm.
(2) Apply base fertilizer. After the planting trench is dug, sufficient base fertilizer should be applied in the trench. For the bottom layer, apply 1000-1500 kg of weeds or barn manure per mu (1 mu = 667 sq m, the same below), cover with 20 cm of soil, mix evenly with the soil, then cover with another 10 cm of soil, and then apply the second layer of base fertilizer, with 100 kg of cake fertilizer plus 100 kg of special fertilizer for tea plants per mu. Finally, backfill with 20 cm of pure soil. After a period of time, once the soil has settled after loosening, a 15-20 cm deep concave trench will remain, ready for planting.
2. Tea seedling planting
(1) Grade the tea seedlings by size and plant them separately.
(2) In the previously made concave trench, first open two shallow planting furrows 10 cm deep, then arrange the tea seedlings in a staggered “pin” shape in the planting trench, with 2 plants per cluster, straighten the tea seedlings, and straighten the root systems.
(3) Cover with soil up to the mud line and firm it, water thoroughly to settle the roots, apply surface fertilizer (special fertilizer for tea plants or compound fertilizer) 5 cm away from the root collar of the tea seedlings, and then cover with soil to more than 5 cm above the mud line.
(4) After the tea seedlings are planted, carry out shaping pruning at 15 cm above the ground to reduce water evaporation from the leaf surface and help survival.
(5) After planting, spread grass between the small rows and near the tea seedlings to cover the soil surface. In dry weather, water frequently to keep the soil moist.
3. Temporary planting
If there is a dry climate and water supply cannot be met at the time of planting, the tea seedlings can be temporarily planted.
(1) Choose a relatively shady yellow soil plot with good site conditions and close to a water source as the temporary planting site.
(2) Open shallow furrows at a row spacing of 15 cm, arrange the tea seedlings in the furrows at a plant spacing of 3 cm, straighten the root systems, cover with soil and firm it, water thoroughly to settle the roots, and then cover with soil to more than 5 cm above the mud line.
(3) Spread grass between the rows to cover the soil surface, and cover the tea seedlings above with a small amount of thatch or rice straw.
(4) After temporary planting, water frequently to keep the soil moist. After the rain has soaked through, transplant and establish them in the field according to the technical requirements.
