What are the control methods for eggplant Fusarium wilt?
Eggplant Fusarium wilt is a very frustrating problem. So how do you control it? Below, the editor will chat with you about it.
Occurrence pattern of eggplant Fusarium wilt:
Fields with years of continuous cropping, poor drainage, waterlogging after rain, acidic soil, severe damage from soil-dwelling pests, and excessive application of nitrogen fertilizer in cultivation, etc., have more severe disease incidence. In years with abundant rain in spring and summer, the disease is severe; in years with abundant rain in autumn, eggplants cultivated in autumn have severe disease incidence.
Control methods for eggplant Fusarium wilt:
1. Use disease-free seeds
2. Before sowing, soak the seeds in 52°C warm water for 30 minutes, or soak them in 1000-fold copper sulfate solution for 10 minutes, or soak them in 0.1% mercuric chloride for 3 minutes, wash them clean with clear water, then soak them in clear water for 6—8 hours to promote germination before sowing. You can also mix the seeds with 0.3% of the seed weight of 70% fenaminosulf soluble powder + 50% iprodione suspension concentrate before sowing, or use 2.5% fludioxonil suspension concentrate or 3.5% fludioxonil·metalaxyl-M suspension seed coating agent at 0.8% of the seed weight, stir quickly so that the liquid coats the seeds, and sow after drying in the shade.
3. Carry out crop rotation with non-solanaceous vegetables for more than 3 years.
4. For conventional seedling raising, use new soil for seedling raising or disinfect the seedbed soil. For each square meter of bed surface, use 35% thiophanate-methyl·hymexazol wettable powder 8—10g, add 4—5kg of dry soil and mix well, first spread 1/3 of the medicated soil on the bed surface, then sow, and then cover the remaining medicated soil over the seeds
5. Use red eggplant, Torubamu, etc. as rootstock for grafted seedling raising, transplant at the right time and carefully, control watering appropriately, strengthen intertillage, and promote healing of root wounds.
6. Use high ridges, and open furrows in time after rain for drainage.
7. Apply fully decomposed organic fertilizer, control the amount of nitrogen fertilizer applied, and increase the application of phosphorus and potassium fertilizers and trace elements.
8. In the early stage of disease onset, you can use 50% carbendazim wettable powder 500-fold solution, or 50% benomyl wettable powder 1000-fold solution, or 20% tolclofos-methyl emulsifiable concentrate 1000-fold solution, or 5% hymexazol aqueous solution 400-fold solution, or 15% hymexazol aqueous solution 1000-fold solution for root drenching, 200 milliliters per plant.
