Fertilizer use for growing potatoes:

Base fertilizer: Generally, base fertilizer is mainly organic fertilizer, supplemented with potato-specific potassium sulfate compound fertilizer. The application rate is 2500-3000 kg of organic fertilizer per mu and about 45-50 kg of potato-specific fertilizer per mu.

Topdressing: Generally, topdressing should be applied skillfully, depending on how the potatoes are growing. Apply fertilizer as appropriate. The first topdressing is when the seedlings are fully emerged; combined with intertillage and earthing up, apply organic fertilizer or quick-acting fertilizer, and water promptly after application. The second topdressing is at the bud stage, when the potato tubers are expanding and the fertilizer demand increases; this is the period of greatest fertilizer demand. Generally, 5-15 kg of potato-specific fertilizer can be applied per mu. Generally, no more topdressing is done after the rows close.

Seed fertilizer: Check the soil nutrient content. If nutrients are low, 15-20 kg of potato-specific fertilizer can be applied per mu as seed fertilizer. Seed fertilizer is generally applied in furrows or holes and must not come into direct contact with seed potatoes.

Common potato-specific potassium sulfate compound fertilizer formulas are 46% (16-10-20), 51% (17-17-17), etc. These common products contain high-quality humic acid, which not only improves potato yield and quality but also improves soil properties and enhances soil organic matter content.
