How to plant dwarf hairgrass seeds? A detailed guide to the planting method
Prepare a fish tank and spread aquatic plant soil on the bottom. Evenly scatter dwarf hairgrass seeds on the aquatic plant soil, then spread a thin layer of aquatic plant soil over them. Spray with water from a watering can to thoroughly soak the aquatic plant soil. Keep the temperature at around 25°C; they should sprout in about 5 days, with 8 hours of light each night and daily misting to keep them moist. After about 15 days, basically all of them will have sprouted. Slowly add water to the tank, without pouring it directly onto the bottom or the seeds. Keep the water temperature at around 25°C, and after a few days of keeping it this way, you can add fish.
What should you pay attention to when growing dwarf hairgrass?
1. The water quality must be fresh: change the water regularly, once a week, replacing 1/3 or 1/4 of the water, and the temperature difference between the new and old water should not exceed 2-3°C.
2. The water temperature must be suitable: it is best to keep the water temperature at around 25°C, and do not exceed 28°C. When the temperature is low, you can use a heater to raise it.
3. The lighting must be reasonable: aquatic plants need to carry out photosynthesis as they grow, so they need to be placed in a spot with plenty of sunlight.
4. Nutrients must be sufficient: fertilize the aquatic plants and dissolve carbon dioxide. This amount needs to be balanced overall; it is not that the more, the better.
