What are the taboos in rice seedling bed management?
Sprayers for rice seedling beds must not be used interchangeably. They need to be cleaned thoroughly before each use, and do not spray repeatedly or miss spots. Pesticides that require washing the seedlings must be rinsed off completely. When mixing pesticides, start by diluting the stock solution first, pay attention to controlling the ratio with water, and adjust the concentration. The best time to spray is early morning or evening each day, when temperatures are lower. Spraying must ensure a good atomization effect, and the nozzle height should be adjusted properly.
Precautions for Ventilating Rice Seedling Beds
1. When ventilating to harden seedlings, use woven fabric, plastic film, or similar materials to block the area below the greenhouse opening, so that strong wind does not blow directly onto the seedlings.
2. Small seedlings should be ventilated on the leeward side, while large seedlings can be ventilated more fully.
3. Ventilate according to the day-night temperature difference: when the temperature difference is too large, keep ventilation time short; when the temperature difference is small, ventilation time can be increased.
4. Prevent low-temperature cold damage. If the outside minimum temperature is below 0°C, warming measures must be taken, such as adding a charcoal brazier, gas canister, heat bulb, smoke bomb, etc.
5. If the outside minimum temperature is below 10°C, close the greenhouse early around 3 p.m. to keep it warm.
6. If low-temperature freezing damage occurs, ventilate early in the morning to relieve leaf wilting caused by freezing.
7. Seedling fields that have entered the 3-leaf stage should be ventilated and hardened even more intensively. Especially on cloudy days, open the ends of the greenhouse in the morning to ventilate, disperse moisture inside, keep the seedling field in a dry-raised state at all times, and cultivate strong seedlings.
Overall, rice seedling beds require attention to many aspects in terms of ventilation and spraying, and everyone can operate reasonably according to their own conditions.
