Triazophos can be used on crops such as rice, cotton and vegetables to control pests such as stem borers, rice planthoppers, aphids, cotton red spider mites, cabbage caterpillars, Lygus bugs, leek maggots and cutworms. Among the rice pests, the main ones are the striped stem borer, the yellow stem borer, the rice leaf roller and the rice gall midge. Among the cotton pests, the main ones are the cotton bollworm, the summer aphid and the plant bug.

(1) Rice pests: for the striped stem borer and the yellow stem borer, at the peak hatching stage to the peak period of the newly hatched larvae, use 150-200 ml of 20% emulsifiable concentrate, 34-50 ml of 60% emulsifiable concentrate, 80-120 ml of 20% microemulsion, 100-150 ml of 15% microemulsion or 100-150 ml of 20% aqueous emulsion per mu, add 50-75 L of water and spray as a fine mist, or add 75-100 L of water and spray as a coarse mist; the effective period is about 7 days.

For the rice leaf roller, before the peak stage of the 2nd-instar larvae, use 125-150 ml of 20% emulsifiable concentrate per mu, add 50-60 L of water and spray; the effective period is about 7 days. For rice thrips, when the leaf tips begin to cause leaf curling, use 50-75 ml of 20% emulsifiable concentrate per mu, add 40-60 L of water and spray; the effective period is 5-7 days. For planthoppers, at the young nymph stage, use 75-100 ml of 20% emulsifiable concentrate per mu, add 60-70 L of water, and spray at the base of the rice plants; the effective period is about 7 days.

For the rice gall midge, use 180-240 ml of 40% emulsifiable concentrate per mu, add 50-60 L of water, and spray at the peak of egg hatching. For the rice weevil, use 50-80 ml of 40% emulsifiable concentrate per mu, add 50-70 L of water and spray, in early spring around the overwintering sites at the edges of the rice field, about 1 week after transplanting in the main field (to control overwintering adults) or 3 weeks after transplanting at the end of the adult egg-laying period.

(2) Cotton pests: for the cotton bollworm, from the peak egg-laying stage (in outbreak years) to the peak egg-laying period (in moderate-occurrence years), use 150-200 ml of 20% emulsifiable concentrate per mu, add 50-75 L of water and spray. In years with large pest numbers and a long occurrence period, spray once every 5 days. For the pink bollworm, at the peak egg-laying period, use 100-150 ml of 20% emulsifiable concentrate per mu, add 50-75 L of water and spray.

In generations with a long occurrence period, spray once more after 7 days. To control the cotton summer aphid, use 50-75 ml of 20% emulsifiable concentrate per mu; to control the plant bug, use 75-100 ml of 20% emulsifiable concentrate per mu, add 40-60 L of water and spray; the effective period is 5-7 days.

(3) Vegetable pests: before the peak 3rd-instar stage of the cabbage caterpillar and at the 1st-2nd-instar larval stage of the diamondback moth, use 100-125 ml of 20% emulsifiable concentrate per mu, add 40-60 L of water and spray. To control leek maggots, use 3-5 kg of 3% granules per mu and broadcast.

(4) Sweet potato weevil: spray with a 1500-2000 times dilution of 40% emulsifiable concentrate.

(5) Cutworm: use 300-600 ml of 20% emulsifiable concentrate per mu and mix it into the soil.

(6) Apple fruit borer: when the egg-infested fruit rate reaches more than 1%, spray with a 1000-2000 times dilution of 40% emulsifiable concentrate.

Note: Triazophos is highly toxic to silkworms; prevent contamination of mulberry fields for silkworm rearing when spraying. It is highly toxic to fish, so it should not be used in rice fields where fish are raised.
