How to Plant and Care for Baby's Breath
1. Soil sterilization
For baby's breath to survive, the soil must be sterile, so it must be sterilized before planting. Put the prepared soil into a zip-lock bag and add an appropriate amount of water, then heat it in a microwave to sterilize it, or you can also put the soil directly into a pan and stir-fry it, which can also achieve the purpose of sterilization after high temperature.
2. Sowing the seeds
Before sowing, first water the sterilized soil until it is wet and thoroughly soaked, and wait until no water drips from the bottom before planting. Use a toothpick to place the seeds evenly on the surface of the soil one by one, and after they are arranged, cover them with loose soil. Do not use too much, just enough to barely cover the seeds.
3. Germination
After the seeds are planted, cover them with a layer of plastic film to keep them warm and moist, then poke a few small holes in it with a toothpick to allow air through and prevent the seeds from suffocating.
4. Care after sprouting
Baby's breath seeds will sprout in about a week. After sprouting, promptly place the pot in a ventilated and shady place. After they survive, gradually increase the light. Do not be too impatient and let them be exposed to strong sunlight right away; only in this way can they grow faster.
