The main new-type agricultural planting techniques are soilless cultivation, column cultivation, wall cultivation, ecological restaurants, and protected agriculture technology. They integrate industry and the tertiary sector, and are a typical example of China's agricultural technology level developing from extensive to intensive. They can maximize the use of resources, reduce resource waste, and at the same time lower costs.

1. Soilless Cultivation

Soilless cultivation means not using natural soil, but instead using a nutrient solution to provide plants with the elements they need for growth and development, so that plants can complete their entire life cycle in water. In fact, soilless cultivation includes three aspects: hydroponics, aeroponics, and substrate cultivation. This cultivation model generally applies to three types of crops: flowers, fruits, and vegetables.

2. Column Cultivation

Column cultivation is a bit like growing flowers: multiple flowerpot-like containers are installed on a column, substrate is placed inside them, and cultivation is carried out within them. Column cultivation mostly grows strawberries; after the strawberries set fruit, they are distributed around the containers, making harvesting very convenient, and since they are pollution-free they can be eaten directly.

3. Wall Cultivation

Wall cultivation ingeniously combines walls with pipes; substrate is placed inside the pipes to provide nutrients for crop growth. The greatest feature of this cultivation method is that it uses limited space, achieves plant diversity within the smallest possible area, and also beautifies the wall. It has excellent ornamental value.

4. Ecological Restaurant

An ecological restaurant is mainly dominated by green plants, with vegetables, fruits, and flowers arranged in a well-balanced, scattered layout, combined with rockeries, small bridges and flowing water, and other garden features, comprehensively presenting a green and beautiful dining environment.

5. Protected Agriculture

The facilities in protected agriculture usually refer to intelligent greenhouses. An intelligent greenhouse is controlled by a computer and can automatically open skylights, shading systems, insulation systems, sprinkler irrigation systems, and a whole series of other systems involved in the crop growth process.
