What are the precautions for growing sprouts on a balcony
When growing sprouts on a balcony, you must pay attention to four points: first, choose plump, high-quality bean seeds; second, do not let the sprouts come into contact with sunlight; third, water frequently every day, once every two hours; fourth, do not use cold water or hot water, and be sure to use room-temperature water.
When growing sprouts, remember the following techniques:
1. First remove the especially small seeds, damaged seeds, moldy and rotten seeds, and impurities, then place the cleaned seeds in a plastic basin or bucket and soak them in nutrient solution diluted 100 times for 6--2 hours; the diluted solution should be 2-3 times the amount of seeds;
2. When the seeds have absorbed enough water, take them out, rinse them clean with water, and germinate them at 20-25 degrees C; sow when the sprouts appear, or after soaking the seeds, sow them directly in a plastic tray to germinate. Alternatively, evenly spread the soaked seeds onto a seedling tray to a thickness of 1.5 cm. The seedling tray should be placed in a well-ventilated place with appropriate shade from light.
3. After the sprouts are planted, spray once a day with nutrient solution diluted 200 times; after the sprouts grow upright until harvest, spray 2-3 times a day.
In addition, when growing sprouts on a balcony, besides the common bean sprouts, you can also grow radish sprouts, peanut sprouts, pea shoots, and so on.
