Yanshu 25 Sweet Potato Variety Introduction and Characteristics Analysis
Yanshu 25 was bred by the Yantai Academy of Agricultural Sciences through hybridization technology, and is a high-quality, high-yield, disease-resistant new edible-type variety. This variety has the characteristics of high yield, stable yield, drought tolerance, tolerance to fertilizer and water, wide adaptability, strong disease resistance, and good eating quality. It is a top-grade variety suitable for fresh-eating cultivation and very suitable for commercial production, with a general yield of 3500-4000kg per mu.
Key cultivation points for Yanshu 25:
1. Plant in hilly plots with good drainage, and try not to plant in flat plots, otherwise it is easy to cause exposed veins and cracked skin. Try to form high ridges, with a ridge height of about 30 cm.
2. In the early growth stage, water moderately to promote seedling survival. In the middle and late growth stages (after July), try not to water, otherwise it is easy to cause exposed veins and cracked skin.
3. Cut off 1-2 cm from the roots, and after the cut wounds heal (usually the next day), plant the cuttings. The planting density is 4000-4500 plants per mu. Generally, the row spacing is 75 cm and the plant spacing is 19-21 cm.
4. Keep the growth period at 145-155 days. If it is too long, it is easy to cause the tubers to be too large, too round, cracked skin, and exposed veins. For low-yield plots, it can be appropriately extended.
5. Fertilize scientifically. Generally, apply 60 kg of fermented finished chicken manure and 15 kg of potassium sulfate per mu. After mixing evenly, spread it into the ridge along with the ridge-forming machine, or apply it manually into the bottom of the ridge by opening a furrow. Try not to apply farmyard manure (too many miscellaneous bacteria). If used, it must be fully fermented and decomposed, and it is advisable to apply 400-500 kg per mu, concentrated in the bottom of the ridge.
