To plant tumorous stem mustard, you must first select a plot with rich organic matter, loose and fertile soil for cultivation. After selecting the plot, you need to prepare the land, apply base fertilizer, open furrows, and make beds. After the plot is prepared, choose the appropriate time to sow, generally sowing in late August, and transplant when the seedlings grow 5—6 leaves. After transplanting, carry out fertilization, irrigation, drainage, intertillage, weeding, and pest and disease control.

1. Soil: Select a plot with rich organic matter, loose and fertile soil for cultivation. Before planting, plow and level the plot, apply organic fertilizer as base fertilizer, and also apply an appropriate amount of phosphorus and potassium fertilizer. Then, according to the field moisture and soil quality, open furrows and make beds. Generally, the bed surface width is 1.5 m, the furrow width is 20—25 cm, and the furrow depth is 15—18 cm.

2. Sowing: Generally sow in late August. Sow the seeds evenly on the bed surface, cover with plant ash after sowing, and wait for germination. The seedling stage is generally 35—40 days. When the seedlings grow 5—6 leaves, they can be transplanted. It is better to transplant on cloudy days or in the evening on sunny days. If the seedbed is relatively dry, spray water evenly one day before transplanting, then transplant, with a row spacing of 24 cm and a hole spacing of 10—12 cm.

3. Fertilization: Apply a light application of diluted human and livestock manure water 1—2 days after transplanting. During the growth period, in addition to base fertilizer, apply 2—3 topdressings, applying more organic fertilizer and phosphorus and potassium fertilizer, and controlling the amount of urea. During fertilization, carry out intertillage, loosening of the soil, and weed removal.

4. Irrigation: If drought and little rain occur, furrow irrigation can be used. If it rains, promptly clean the bed furrows to prevent water accumulation in the field.

5. Pest and disease control: Viral diseases, black spot disease, white rust, aphids, and other pests and diseases are prone to occur. For control, pesticides such as ningnanmycin, baijunxiao, and acetamiprid can be selected, and they should be diluted with water and sprayed strictly according to the drug instructions.
