First, choose a container for planting strawberries; a clay pot or basin will do, filled with soil. Then, soak the seeds for 8-12 hours, and once they have swollen, scatter them on the soil surface, then cover with 0.2 cm of fine sandy soil. After that, place the clay pot in a shallow water basin, and once the water has seeped through and moistened the soil, take it out, then cover with plastic film. Finally, just wait for the strawberries to sprout.

1. Prepare the Container

Prepare a container for growing strawberries; it can be a clay pot, filled with soil. It is best to choose fertile, loose, neutral or slightly acidic loam soil; you can use the humus layer from the surface of a broadleaf forest, or mix 1 part each of garden soil, decomposed manure, and river sand evenly, then add 2-3% superphosphate and mix it in.

2. Sowing the Seeds

Soak the seeds for 8-12 hours, and once they have swollen, scatter them on the soil surface, then cover with fine sandy soil about 0.2 cm thick. Place the clay pot in a shallow water basin, and once the water has slowly seeped through and moistened the soil in the pot, take it out, then cover with plastic film. Seedlings will emerge in about 10 days; after they emerge, thin them appropriately, and when the seedlings have grown 3-4 true leaves, transplant them with the soil attached.

3. Daily Care

Growing strawberries requires choosing a spot with plenty of sunshine, where they can receive ample light. Keep the soil moist regularly, but the soil must have good drainage. Fertilize lightly and often; do not apply too much at once, as it will burn the seedlings. If applying organic fertilizer, it must be fully decomposed and must not be applied directly.
