First, land preparation and fertilization: choose a fertile, loose, and well-aerated plot, then level and finely rake it and apply base fertilizer; second, build the greenhouse and trellis: two flat beds form one greenhouse, with a height of about 4 m; third, proper water and fertilizer management and temperature control; fourth, pruning and leaf removal: when the eggplant seedlings grow to about 30 cm, remove the terminal bud, and after the plant takes shape, remove the terminal buds of the side branches. Finally, do a good job of pest and disease control.

Before planting eggplant, the following work should be done:

1. Greenhouse sealing and disinfection

For each cubic meter of greenhouse or shed, use 4 g of sulfur powder, add 0.1 g of 80% dichlorvos and 8 g of sawdust, mix well and ignite, seal the greenhouse or shed for 24 hours, then open it for thorough ventilation.

2. Land preparation and fertilization

Apply 5000 kg of high-quality farmyard manure per mu, mix the manure and soil evenly and rake level, and open planting furrows 10-15 cm deep at a row spacing of 55 cm. Apply 20 kg of diammonium phosphate and 30 kg of potassium sulfate per mu, then cover with 5 cm of soil after fertilization (avoid the drip line).

3. Planting

Place the seedlings at a spacing of 25-30 cm (be careful to avoid slow seedling recovery caused by broken seedling clods), then pour enough planting water into the furrow, and after it seeps in, cultivate soil to form ridges. Cover with film the next day, using 1.0-1.2 m wide plastic film, covering two ridges at a time, pull it to the same length as the ridges, then use a blade to cut a vertical slit at each plant position, lead the seedlings out through the slit, finally pull the film tight, press it firmly with soil, and seal the planting openings well.

Of course, conditions differ from region to region, so there may be differences in application rates and timing. The specifics should still be determined according to actual conditions, and one must never blindly copy them.
