Fertilization and pest and disease control for garlic sprouts:

1. Base fertilizer

When producing garlic sprouts in a greenhouse or polytunnel, garlic bulbs are mostly planted directly into the ground. Before planting, apply 150000 kg of fully decomposed, finely crushed high-quality farmyard manure per hectare, spread it on the ground, then deep-plow 20-25 cm, mix the fertilizer and soil evenly, and rake level to make beds.

2. Topdressing

When growing garlic sprouts in a greenhouse, if sufficient base fertilizer is applied, topdressing is generally not needed. However, if growth is affected by a lack of nitrogen fertilizer, ammonium phosphate can be dissolved in water and splashed on, applying 225-300 kg per hectare. Chemical fertilizers must not be spread directly and then watered. In addition, when the seedlings are 20 cm tall, they can be irrigated once with a 200-fold ammonium nitrate fertilizer solution, using 75-90 kg of ammonium nitrate per hectare; potassium dihydrogen phosphate, tonifying hormone, urea, etc. can also be used for foliar topdressing. After each foliar topdressing, spray with clean water on both sides to avoid fertilizer burn.

3. Pest and disease control

First, control the temperature and humidity inside the greenhouse well so as not to create conditions for pests and diseases to develop. Then do a good job of regular disinfection to reduce the base number of pathogens in the greenhouse. If disease occurs, corresponding measures must be taken, either spraying chemicals or removing the diseased plants.

Garlic sprouts can generally be marketed about 50 days after sowing. To extend the supply period and increase yield, harvest every other plant and market in batches.
