First, select zucchini seeds that are early-maturing, of good variety quality, and fast-growing. After sowing and raising seedlings, transplant them at a density of 800-1000 plants per mu. After transplanting, water them to help the seedlings recover. Fertilization should be carried out according to different growth stages, mainly with organic fertilizer and compound fertilizer.

After transplanting, water them to help the seedlings recover. Fertilization should be carried out according to different growth stages, mainly with organic fertilizer and compound fertilizer. After that, do a good job with temperature management inside the greenhouse, vine hanging and pruning, and pest and disease control.

Points to note when growing zucchini in greenhouses:

1. Planting time

For the early spring crop, transplanting can be done 20-30 days earlier than cucumbers. For sowing and raising seedlings from December to January, transplanting in late January to early February is appropriate, with harvest in mid-to-late March and vine removal in early June. For the autumn-winter crop, sow in late August, transplant in late September, harvest in early November, and it can be delayed until late April of the following year.

2. Temperature and humidity regulation

During the transplanting and seedling recovery period for zucchini, a relatively high temperature should be maintained inside the greenhouse, 25°C-30°C during the day and 18°C-20°C at night. After the seedlings have recovered, lower the temperature appropriately, to 25°C during the day and 12°C-15°C at night. After fruit set, raise the temperature appropriately, to 25°C-28°C during the day and 15°C at night. During the severe cold of deep winter, the midday temperature should be kept at 28°C-30°C to prevent the nighttime temperature from dropping too low. After the cold winter has passed, increase ventilation and restore the temperature management standards used before the severe cold.

The regulation of humidity and gases should be carried out in conjunction with temperature management. Measures such as ventilating to lower temperature, using drip-free film, and covering with plastic film at transplanting can significantly reduce humidity inside the greenhouse. Promptly expel harmful gases from inside the greenhouse, which is conducive to the exchange of carbon dioxide from outside the greenhouse.

3. Pest and disease control

In addition to selecting disease-resistant varieties, it is also very necessary to apply pesticides reasonably and to use pests' avoidance tendencies for control.

When the zucchini meets the requirements for marketable fruit, harvest it at the proper time. When picking, be careful not to damage the main vine.
