Which regions are the main production areas of Huai Shou Ju?

The production area of Huai Shou Ju is Jiaozuo City, Henan Province. Huai Shou Ju is a subspecies of “Huai Ju Hua”, one of the “Four Great Huai Medicines” used in medicine, and Huai Ju Hua is a specialty of Jiaozuo City, Henan Province, and a Chinese National Geographical Indication product. Huai Ju Hua has two varieties, namely yellow chrysanthemum and white chrysanthemum. Their main functions are both to clear the liver and improve eyesight, but yellow chrysanthemum focuses on clearing heat, while white chrysanthemum focuses on improving eyesight.

On August 07, 2003, the former General Administration of Quality Supervision, Inspection and Quarantine approved the implementation of origin product protection for “Huai Ju Hua”. The origin area of Huai Ju Hua shall be based on the area proposed in the Notice of the Jiaozuo Municipal People's Government on Determining the Origin Product Protection Area of the “Four Great Huai Medicines” (Jiao Zheng Wen 〖2002〗 No. 114), and shall be the administrative areas currently under the jurisdiction of Wuzhi County, Wen County, Boai County, Qinyang City, Mengzhou City, and Xiuwu County in Henan Province.
