Introduction to Da Wu Ye tea:
Da Wu Ye Dancong was selected as a single plant from the natural hybrid offspring of the Fenghuang Shuixian population variety on Phoenix Mountain; it is a sexually propagated plant, small tree type, medium-leaf class, medium-bud variety. Its production is divided into spring tea, summer tea, autumn tea and winter tea depending on the season. Among them, the winter tea, because of the lower temperatures and the relatively thick and sturdy appearance of the processed tea leaves, is named: Xuepian (snowflake). Xuepian tea is the tea with the smallest output among Dancong teas, and is also the tea with the richest and most lasting aroma. Its appearance is thick and sturdy in strips, uniform, neat and straight, with a yellow-brown color, glossy and lustrous, and with cinnabar-red dots; when brewed it has a lasting fresh fragrance, with a unique natural orchid fragrance, a rich, mellow and refreshing taste, and a throat-moistening, sweet aftertaste; the liquor color is clear and bright yellow, the edges of the infused leaves are cinnabar red, and the leaf centers are bright yellow, long known as “green leaf with red edging”.
