How does dandelion spread its seeds? You'll understand after reading this
Dandelion spreads its seeds by wind. Dandelion is the achene of the Asteraceae plant dandelion (Taraxacum); when mature, its pappus opens up like a parachute and drifts with the wind, scattering the seeds far away.
Dandelion planting method:
1. Prepare the soil
The growth of dandelion must have suitable soil; it is recommended to use a mix of leaf mold, river sand, garden soil and a small amount of base fertilizer. After completing the soil mix, spray a carbendazim solution into the soil to disinfect it, ensuring the seeds grow smoothly in the soil.
2. Germination treatment
If dandelion is planted in spring, the plant needs to be given germination treatment: soak it in warm water at about 40°C for about 1 day, then place it on a wet towel for 2 days before planting. If planting in autumn, germination treatment is not needed.
3. Planting and potting
Next, sow the treated seeds in the prepared soil, then spread a thin layer of soil over them to complete planting. After planting, observe the dryness and moisture of the soil; if the soil is on the dry side, spray an appropriate amount of water to keep the soil moist and promote seed germination.
4. Later care
Next, we need to strengthen management of the plant, controlling light and water well in the early stage, and placing the plant in a semi-shady, ventilated environment; the seeds can germinate in about one week. After that, its light conditions can be appropriately increased to promote the plant's growth, and after one month of cultivation, a small amount of dilute liquid fertilizer can be applied.
