Choose a plot with fertile soil and good drainage and irrigation; after land preparation, disinfection and fertilization, carry out transplanting. The density and depth of strawberry seedling transplanting should be determined according to the planting area and soil fertility. After transplanting is completed, water thoroughly to settle the roots, then water once every 5-7 days to keep the soil moist. Finally, just do a good job of temperature and fertilization management.

Points to note when growing winter strawberries:

1. Temperature

The root growth temperature of strawberries is between 5 and 30 degrees. During overwintering, the greenhouse needs to be sealed. Especially in the north, strawberries are grown in greenhouses, but note that after sealing the greenhouse, the air needs to be changed regularly to let oxygen flow in. In November, when strawberries finish flowering, the suitable temperature at this time is 15 to 20 degrees, and only by maintaining this temperature can fruiting be favored.

2. Daily management

After strawberries are cultivated in the greenhouse, three rounds of intertillage and soil loosening are needed. The purpose of this is to speed up the decomposition of organic matter and help strawberries absorb good nutrients as quickly as possible. At the early flowering stage of strawberries, topdressing is needed, applying 10 kg of urea per mu, and at the fruit-setting stage, apply 10 kg of urea per mu again.

3. Variety selection

Because winter growing is done in a greenhouse, the growth cycle there is relatively long, so when selecting varieties, we should choose strawberry seedlings with a relatively short dormancy period.

During the strawberry growing period, be sure to frequently remove diseased leaves, withered and yellow leaves and diseased fruit, and also frequently clean the ditches and manage the soil moisture to prevent the occurrence of frozen fruit and rotten fruit.
