Key Technical Points for Greenhouse Strawberry Cultivation and Management
Growing strawberries in a greenhouse requires good control of the temperature inside the greenhouse, and the management of the plastic film should also be adjusted according to temperature changes. Strawberry growth mainly depends on the greenhouse temperature and routine management, so watering and fertilizing, as well as the prevention and control of pests and diseases, must not be neglected.
Strawberry transplanting method:
1. When transplanting, the root crown of the strawberry seedling should be level with the ground, following the principle of “shallow planting so roots are not exposed, deep planting so the crown is not buried”; spread the roots of the strawberry seedling out as much as possible, then firm the soil. Remember that 20-28 degrees is the optimal temperature range for strawberry growth; temperatures above 35 degrees or below 5 degrees are unfavorable for strawberry growth.
2. After transplanting is completed, water immediately with root-setting water, which can be prepared by mixing 20 grams of “Genduole” with 25 kilograms of water; after planting, shade the plants properly. This completes the strawberry transplanting work.
3. It is best to carry out pest and disease prevention and control for strawberries, and to “treat the specific problem with the right remedy” by choosing biological or residue-free agents for control. The temperature for strawberry cultivation and planting should generally be kept at 20-28 degrees Celsius; higher or lower temperatures will both have adverse effects on its cultivation.
