Where are the main producing areas of Guangdong pineapple located?
Guangzhou pineapple is mainly produced in Shantou, Zhanjiang, Jiangmen and the suburbs of Guangzhou. In addition, Taiwan, China, Guangxi, Fujian, Hainan and other places in our country also have large-scale cultivation, while Yunnan and southern Guizhou have a small amount of cultivation.
Key points for high-yield pineapple cultivation:
1. Choose a good orchard site, and select a place facing south with ample sunlight, abundant water sources and convenient transportation as a commercial production base.
2. Scientific planting. Before planting, improve poor soil and apply sufficient base fertilizer; select strong seedlings for planting. As for density, the Cayenne group is planted at 3000-4000 plants per mu, and the Queen group at 4000-5000 plants.
3. After planting, strengthen fertilizer and water management. For fertilizer amount, Guangxi applies 42.2 kg of nitrogen, 26.8 kg of phosphorus and 38.5 kg of potassium per mu, with N:P2O5:K2O=1:0.62:0.9; for fertilization timing, usually apply flower-promoting fertilizer from December to before flower bud emergence in February of the following year, and apply bud-strengthening fertilizer in July-August after fruit harvest; between the flower-promoting fertilizer and the bud-strengthening fertilizer, apply fruit-strengthening and bud-promoting fertilizer; apply foliar fertilizer once each in April, June, July and September every year, and apply topdressing twice each in May and August, using 1% urea plus 0.5% potassium sulfate solution; apply base fertilizer after fruit harvest.
Pineapple is sweet and sour and pleasant to eat, with a rich fragrance. Besides being eaten fresh, it can also be made into canned food. However, it should be noted that pineapple contains bromelain and irritating glycoside substances, so it is best to soak it in salt water before eating.
