1. How to prevent allergies when eating mangoes
Mangoes contain substances such as aldehyde acid, fruit acid and mango protein, among which aldehyde acid easily causes skin allergies, with symptoms mostly appearing around the mouth (both corners of the mouth, the upper and lower jaw, or the cheeks). Therefore, when eating a mango, the flesh can be cut into small pieces and put directly into the mouth to avoid touching the facial skin; after eating a mango, you should rinse your mouth and wash your face to avoid residual juice.
2. The nutritional value of mangoes
The mango fruit is oval and smooth, with lemon-yellow skin, fine flesh and a sweet aroma. It is rich in sugar and vitamins, with protein at 0.65%-1.31%. Every 100 grams of flesh contains 2281-6304 micrograms of carotene and 14%-24.8% soluble solids, and its content of essential trace elements for the human body (selenium, calcium, phosphorus, potassium, iron, etc.) is also very high.
The mango has the reputation of “king of tropical fruits” and is highly nutritious. A mango has about 57 calories (100 grams / about the flesh of 1 large mango), and its vitamin A content is as high as 3.8%, twice that of apricots. Its vitamin C content also exceeds that of oranges and strawberries. Every 100 grams of flesh contains 56.4-137.5 milligrams of vitamin C, and some can reach as high as 189 milligrams; its sugar content is 14-16%; the seed contains 5.6% protein; 16.1% fat; and 69.3% carbohydrates.
Mangoes also have certain effects such as promoting fluid production, strengthening the stomach, promoting the flow of qi and relieving cough, and have a certain auxiliary effect on treating symptoms such as cough, vomiting and poor appetite.
