Jaboticaba can be planted in Jiangsu, Zhejiang, Fujian, Guangdong, Guangxi, Hubei, Sichuan, Yunnan and other places. It generally grows in places above 1000 m in altitude with an annual rainfall of 1200 mm. It can be planted in fertile, deep, well-drained slightly acidic soil.

Points to note when planting jaboticaba:

1. Soil

Jaboticaba adapts extremely well to the soil environment of the planting site, so basically it has no excessive requirements; but note that overly sandy soil, heavy clay soil, alkaline soil or barren land is not really suitable for jaboticaba to grow. If you want jaboticaba to grow well, then the soil at the planting site should have good permeability and sufficient fertility, and at the same time the soil should be slightly acidic sandy loam; in addition, the water resources around the planting site should be abundant, and the drainage and irrigation system as well as transportation should be relatively convenient.

2. Temperature

Jaboticaba is a tropical fruit, so its temperature requirements are relatively high. If the temperature is too low, or too high, it will affect the yield and quality of jaboticaba, and in serious cases it may even affect the survival of the jaboticaba tree. The most suitable temperature for jaboticaba to grow is 22 to 35 degrees, and during the growing process we can use greenhouse technology to regulate the temperature. At the same time we should note that the lowest temperature generally should not be lower than 10 degrees; although it will not cause death, it will still affect its normal growth.

3. Light

The jaboticaba planting site must have sufficient light; if there is not enough light, then it is all for nothing, so we can also adjust the light by artificial means. First of all, when planting we should pay attention to the planting density, which has a great influence on the light intensity in the field later on. Generally the row spacing is 3 to 4 m and the plant spacing is about 2 to 3 m.

4. Water and fertilizer

Jaboticaba has the characteristic of liking moisture, so when planting we should pay attention to keeping the soil moist and water it regularly; although watering is needed, the amount of water should not be too large, and there must be no standing water in the field, so in heavy rainfall weather drainage management is also needed. When fertilizing, we usually use water-soluble fertilizer, long-acting fertilizer, organic fertilizer together with a small amount of micro-fertilizer and chemical fertilizer, and the most important thing is to reasonably configure the fertilizer ratio.

5. Pruning

The growth cycle of the jaboticaba tree is relatively long, because its growth rate is relatively slow, so its pruning is still different from the pruning of other fruit trees; generally no heavy pruning is done, and it is only necessary to maintain the tree shape. At ordinary times, appropriately prune away the excess branches and leaves to maintain good permeability between the trunks.

The above is the relevant introduction on where jaboticaba can be planted, and I hope it is helpful to everyone.
