Herbicides that kill weeds without killing chili pepper seedlings include 43% alachlor EC, 20% napropamide EC, trifluralin, 33% pendimethalin EC, and 10% quizalofop-p-ethyl. Among them, 43% alachlor EC, 20% napropamide EC, and trifluralin are used before sowing chili pepper seedlings; 33% pendimethalin EC is sprayed on the soil surface after sowing chili pepper seedlings and covering with soil, or sprayed on the soil surface 1-2 days before transplanting. 10% quizalofop-p-ethyl is sprayed 10 days after the transplanted chili pepper seedlings have established.

1. Alachlor: It is a selective pre-emergence herbicide, mainly used for weeds that germinate in the soil before emergence, and is basically ineffective against weeds that have already emerged. It is mainly used for corn, soybeans, peanuts, and sugarcane, and can also be used for cotton, rapeseed, potatoes, and crops such as onions, chili peppers, and cabbage. It can control annual grass weeds and many broadleaf weeds.

2. Trifluralin: It is a selective pre-emergence soil treatment agent, mainly absorbed through the coleoptile and hypocotyl of weeds, and is ineffective against weeds that have already emerged. It is suitable for crops such as cotton, soybeans, rapeseed, peanuts, potatoes, winter wheat, barley, sunflowers, carrots, sugarcane, tomatoes, eggplants, and chili peppers, controlling annual grass weeds and some broadleaf weeds.

3. Pendimethalin: It is a selective pre-emergence and post-emergence dryland soil treatment herbicide, widely used in crops such as cotton, corn, direct-seeded upland rice, soybeans, peanuts, potatoes, garlic, ginger, carrots, chili peppers, Chinese chives, scallions, onions, celery, and coriander. It has a significant effect on annual grass weeds and some broadleaf weeds.
